Yerin sat in the living room with a bottle of wine that she still hasn't drank out of yet. She stared at the black tv with emotionless eyes. She could see her reflection in the screen and that bothered her a lot. Even she couldn't look at herself knowing that Eunbi and Umji were disappointed and disgusted by her.
By now Umji was probably sleeping and Eunbi was most likely sitting in her room replaying the previous event over and over again. Yerin would just have to swallow her pride and apologize to Eunbi for what she did, but she wanted to wait until Eunbi came to her first.
"Eunbi!" Yerin jumped off the seat and ran to the kitchen when she saw the younger girl out of the corner of her eye.
"Yeah? I don't remember wanting to talk to you." Eunbi opened the fridge and refused to make eye contact.
"Eunbi I'm...sorry." It pained Yerin to apologize. She hated it almost more than anything.
"Wow, how hard was that to say?" Eunbi rolled her eyes.
"Hey," Yerin grabbed her arm when she tried to walk away. "I'm being serious. I didn't think it would upset you that much. You use to be cold-hearted, what happened to that?" Yerin questioned her. Eunbi didn't know either for she was also looking for an answer to that question.
"I guess I just changed." Eunbi shrugged. She had nothing else to say and pulled her arm away from Yerin so she could go back upstairs to her room.
"Will you stop for a second? I'm trying to talk to you." Yerin grabbed her arm again.
"Stop fucking touching me!" Eunbi turned around too fast and accidentally slapped her across the face, but she didn't feel guilty about it.
"You're the one that wanted me in your pants last night!" Yerin fired back. She kind of just blurted it out without even a second thought.
"I was drunk!" Eunbi argued.
"Not drunk enough." Yerin sassily crossed her arms over her chest.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Eunbi glared at her.
"Admit it, you wanted to have sex with me." Yerin challenged.
"No, I didn't! You're a lier! You're such an asshole! Ugh!" Eunbi stormed up the stairs like a little girl.
"What just happened?" Yerin looked up and found Sowon standing by the door, confusion written on her face.
"Eunbi is just being a bitch like she usually is." Yerin then marched up the stairs after Eunbi.
"Is there something that happened that I missed?" Sowon tilted her head in confusion as she set the grocery bags on the table.
"Yerin killed a baby today." Umji appeared out of nowhere like she usually does. Sowon didn't know how she did it— how Umji could just be there in the matter of seconds without anyone even knowing.
"Oh..." Sowon was surprised to hear the sudden news so nonchalantly by Umji yet she wasn't surprised that Yerin had the audacity to murder a newborn.
"So what did you get? And why did you get home so late? It doesn't take that long." Umji crossed her arms over her chest and waited for an answer from the woman standing in front of her.
"I don't know. I was kind of just looking around at the store and roaming around." She shrugged as she put the groceries away in the fridge. "Can you finish the rest?" Sowon pointed at the remaining bags on the table. "I'm tired and I need to get some rest for tomorrow. I'm busy tomorrow and I've got lots of stuff to do. Thanks." Sowon smiled and patted the top of Umji's head and ran up the stairs before Umji could say no and refuse to do it.
Umji rolled her eyes before picking up the last of the groceries and putting them away in the fridge. The fridge was all stacked up with food now thanks to Sowon. They all appreciated it, but Sowon didn't know it. She didn't know anyone appreciated what she did for them, unfortunately.
Umji was walking towards the stair case when she realized how dirty the floor was when she stepped on it with bare feet. It was dusty and obviously hadn't been cleaned for over a month. Either Sowon was too lazy to clean it or she was too busy and didn't have any time to. Umji stood there for a moment, deciding whether or not to just take the little amount of time it takes to clean the floor or just go to bed and let Sowon or someone else handle it eventually.
She couldn't let this go on though, and she knew no one else would clean it. Plus, she owed Sowon for letting them stay with her at her new house. She sighed and went searching for the broom. She went out to the garage and grabbed the broom on the side next to the door. She knew this chore was only going to take a few minutes but she felt so tired.
She cleaned the entire hard wood floor and lastly went to clean the dirt next to the floor by their shoes. There was a shoe rack next to it but they never used it. Umji used it often but sometimes she felt too lazy to pick up her shoes and set them on the rack.
As she was cleaning the area she didn't pay attention at all to what she was pushing into the pile of crumbs and dust. Once she finished she looked at the pile to clean it up but immediately noticed something shiny and expensive in the dirt pile. A diamond ring.
She picked it up and looked at it with eyes twice the size. She felt like she had seen it somewhere else but she couldn't seem to remember. She set the ring on the table and continued picking up the mess. As she reached for it before she went to bed she could suddenly remember the familiarity of it. It was the exact ring Eunha has.
