I take a deep breath to calm myself down "It's alright to be afraid Rainbow" my father Bow Hothoof whispers in my ear I shake my head blinking back tears "I can't do it" I tell him. He puts his hands on my shoulders and kneels in front of me "when I first tried to go through the wall I was terrified" he tells me I wipe a tear from my eye "really?" I ask he nods his head "you just need to take a deep breathe" he tells me breathing deeply and waits for me to do the same "and just go for! Don't be afraid you'll never see what happens if you don't overcome your fears"

I take another deep breathe thinking back to my first soccer game. "Don't fear to fail. Be afraid of what fear keeps you from doing" I remember my mother telling me. I feel someone touch my back and turn around to see my mother kneeling next to me she nods. I stand up and shake my shoulders "I'm ready" I say walking towards the wall. Suddenly the wall is in front of me and I walk into it the train station around me disappears and instead a train sits in front of me steam coming from the top of it. I walk towards it and wait for my parents to walk through the wall.

When they walk through they drop my bags off and rush over to me. "You come from a long line of Gryffindors but that doesn't mean you'll be put into it." my father explains to me "but if you're put in Hufflepuff embrace it" my mother Windy Whistles a former Hufflepuff tells me "don't be afraid to make friends in other houses either" she tells me "even Slytherins" my father adds I shudder at the name "some good wizards and witches have come from that house" my father informs me and I nod.

The train whistles warning us that our time was running out. "here" my mother says handing me some money "for snacks on the train" she says winking I laugh then give both of them big hugs "bye Dashie" my dad says I smile at him sadly he hadn't called me that since my first day of kindergarten "be good!" my mother says holding back tears "I will!" I tell her "I'll see you at my first quidditch match!" I say to both of them my father fist bumps me before I get onto the train.

The door in front of me shuts and I wave to my parents as the train starts moving "We'll miss you!" my mother yells as tears fall from her eyes "ditto" I yell as they disappear from sight I collect myself before walking further into the train. Every compartment was full but the one on the end so I open the door and the girl sitting on the seat looks up at me "do you mind if I sit with you?" I ask she shakes her head "not at all go ahead" she says moving her bag on the opposite seat.

"You look familiar," she tells me looking at my face closely I nod my head and show her my arm. On my forearm was a cloud with three thunderbolts coming from the bottom of it one red, one yellow, and one blue. She gasps "you're Rainbow Dash?" she asks I nod "I've heard about you of course but I never thought" she puts her hand to her head I cover up my cutie mark with my sleeve. "Wow yo-you" she gasps again "sorry I don't want to freak you out," she says putting her hands up "no no I get it. It's not every day you met the girl who was almost killed by Chrysalis" I laugh she nods her head "could you?" she asks "tell you the story?" I ask she nods

I had expected this to happen. Everyone wanting to know the story of how I escaped the murderous witch Chrysalis. "My parents were out getting groceries and I was in my room. My best friend Gilda and her mother were with me. Gilda and I were playing when the front door was blown in. Gilda and I ran for the nearest closet but it didn't keep the noise out. We heard Gilda's mother being killed by Chrysalis. When we stopped hearing her screams she went in search of my parents. When she found us she turned her wand on Gilda and then me." I pause for dramatic effect "she cast her spell and it hit me here" I roll up my sleeve to show my cutie mark again "instead of the green flash I had seen come from her wand it was a rainbow. Chrysalis was distracted for only a second by the rainbow and I ran! I ran to my neighbor's house."

She nods "what happened?" she asks I smile sadly "Gilda and her mom were killed," I say letting a tear fall from my eye "I was lucky to have escaped and my parents were lucky they weren't home." I tell her she nods again "Anyways what about you? You haven't even told me your name!" I say she shrugs her shoulder "well I'm no one special really" she says shyly "everyone's special" I tell her "I'm Apple Jack" she says extending her arm I shake her hand "of course! I should have known" I say happily "I go to your farm every year! You have the best apple cider!" I tell her

She smiles going throw her bag. She pulls out a glass of apple cider and gives it to me "Thanks!" I say happily opening the bottle and taking a big gulp. We hear a knock on the door and turn our heads to see three girls standing in the doorway "Could we sit with you? " the girl with the pink hair asks we both nod our heads and Apple Jack moves her bag to make room. They sit down and the girl with the purple hair across from me gasps "my goodness!" she says fanning her face "oh sorry darling I just" she breaks off gasping at her "I don't mean to stare" she tells me shaking her head "where are my manners. I'm Rarity" she tells me "I'd introduce myself but I get the feeling you know who I am" I say to her she nods "I'm Rainbow Dash" I tell the two pink headed girls next to me "I'm Pinkie Pie" the girl with darker pink hair tells me shaking my hand excitedly I smile at her turning to the other girl "Fluttershy" she whispers

"She doesn't talk much" Rarity tells me I nod "that's fine" I shrug Apple Jack reaches into her bag and hands the other girls each a bottle of cider "my granny packed at least twelve" she says happily "give her our thanks" Rarity says opening her's Pinkie Pie nods downing it. She licks her lips "I hope they have some of that at Hogwarts!" she says happily Apple Jack shakes her head "I doubt it most likely just pumpkin juice" Apple Jack says Fluttershy nods "I read about it online" she tells us "I was afraid they wouldn't have vegetarian options" we all nod our heads when a girl walks into the compartment.

"Have any of you seen an owl?" she asks looking around before jumping into the air "Found him!" she says cradling the owl in her arms "oh my what kind is he?" Fluttershy asks eagerly "I'm not sure," she tells Fluttershy "may I?" Fluttershy asks gesturing to the owl the girl nods handing her the owl. Fluttershy looks at it closely before playing with it "I'm Twilight Sparkle" she introduces her self she gaps locking eyes with me "Merlin's beard!" she says "it can't be!" she says I nod "it can" I say Pinkie giggles next to me "I've read all about you!" Twilight says sitting down next to Rarity "Your story is legendary!" she tells me "I'd rather go down in history as the best quidditch player every" I say cockily she nods obviously confused "he's a great grey" Fluttershy says handing Twilight her owl. Fluttershy looks at the rest of us "We're allowed to bring a pet did any of you?" she asks shyly we all nod "my dog Winona is in her crate" Apple Jack says "Opalescence my cat is also in a crate" Rarity says Pinkie Pie pulls out a baby alligator "say hi Gummy!" Pinkie Pie says to her pet I look at her in concern "Well Tank's chilling in his crate" I tell the girls "he's my pet tortoise" I say Fluttershy nods pulling a bunny from her bag "this is Angel" she says cuddling her bunny up to her.

We all start laughing when she starts baby talking to her little friend. She blushes and puts Angel back in her bag.
