I pull the gillyweed out from my pocket and hold it in my hand Soarin looks at in then turns to me and smiles "good luck" he says smiling "ditto" I smile back "on the whistle the champions will dive into the black lake and recover what we've taken from them in the night" Luna announces I put the gillyweed into my mouth and when the whistle blows I swallow it and dive into the black lake. As I hit the surface my legs and neck start to ache and I look down to see that I have flippers instead of legs and gills on my neck. I breathe and feel water rush into my gills.

I swim down to the bottom of the lake as seaweed hits my face. I look around as I swim looking for signs of life but it was quite peaceful as I swam. Suddenly the seaweed moves in front of me and I watch as tiny fish swim towards me in a mass group they attack me biting at my feet and arms I pull out my wand and point it at them "Relashio!" the squid-like things lose their grip and I swim away as fast as my flippers would take me.

As I swim I hear singing like the voice I heard from my egg. I swim towards it and gasp at the underwater village in front of me. Merpeople were swimming around going about their day as I swam into it I follow the singing up to the top of the town where four figures two girls and two boys where floating I recognize Apple Jack and Flash. I rush over to the seaweed around Apple Jack's ankle as I pull on it I notice a sharp looking rock I pick up the rock and start cutting into the seaweed.

I look over my shoulder as I see a flash of light next to me. Angel Wings had just put her wand away as she grabbed Flash she pointed to her watch before rising to the surface with Flash. I start cutting faster and when the seaweed breaks I grab Apple Jack's hand and we both float to the surface. I feel my neck and feet ache as my gills and flippers disappear. I break the surface of the water with Apple Jack next to me. "Rainbow Dash has saved her friend Apple Jack leaving Soarin who has yet to return" I hear Luna announce I look back at the water as Apple Jack and I swim towards the platform once on the platform we're both wrapped in towels by Redheart who then looks over Sassy Saddles "I never saw you rescue your person" I tell her she looks over sadly "I never made it to her" she tells me sadly

"Soarin has saved his brother Silver Zoom" Luna announces as they swim towards the platform merpeople arrive on the surface with a girl they give her to Cadence who brings her to Sassy Saddles "Oh my dear Fleur de Lis" Sassy Saddles says grabbing the girl "Fleur de Lis had to be saved by the merpeople as Sassy Saddles did not save her sister"

I help Soarin on to the plate form. Redheart was with Fleur de Lis so I share my towel with him "you did great!" I tell him he smiles at me "not as good as you!" he says playfully punching my arm "do you think we-" before he could finish Luna starts talking over the speakers "In first place we have Angel Wings" the crowd claps "Second Rainbow Dash" the crowd cheers "Third Soarin" I shout my cheers "and fourth Sassy Saddles" the crowd grows quiet "the champions will enter the third task in that order getting a lead over the last" Luna tells us

"Guess I'll win before you even start" I joke to Soarin he laughs "could we talk?" he asks I nod my head as we walk onto shore next to each other still wrapped in a towel. "The yule ball is in a couple of days and..." he trails off rubbing his neck as his cheeks turn red "yeah?" I ask smiling "I was wondering if you didn't have a date..." he says trailing off again "I don't" I confirm he looks at me smiling brightly "would you go with me?" he asks I smile and nod "Of course" I say putting my arms around his neck in a hug. He kisses the top of my head as he puts his arms around my waist.

Together we walk up to the castle hand in hand smiling as brightly as humanly possible. Once inside the castle he waves goodbye and my friends quickly pull me to the side "is he your date to the ball?" Apple Jack asks "or better yet your boyfriend?" Rarity asks I blush "no he's my date," I tell them they smile excitedly "who are you guys going with?" I ask they all smile at me

"I'm going with Cheese Sandwich he's the planner Durmstrang has for parties they brought him here in case Hogwarts needed help," Pinkie tells me blushing "Well that Trenderhoof guy from Durmstrang asked me and I said yes," Apple Jack says shrugging "you know the cute guy that Discord is apprenticing? Well, we sort of started talking during my care of magical creatures class and he asked me one day!" Twilight says smiling "well I asked Prince Blue blood from Beauxbatons!" Rarity says excitedly "Big Mac asked me the other day," Fluttershy says quietly.

I smile at my friends as we join in a group hug. Excited about the upcoming ball.
