I put on my heels and try to stand up "I got you" Pinkie says steading me "thanks" I say she nods going back to brushing her hair "need help?" I ask she nods "I just want it in a ponytail," she tells me I pull her pink hair back into a high ponytail "good?" I ask she pulls her bangs out of the ponytail and a little piece next to her ear "good" she confirms I tie her hair up and walk away to put a bracelet on my bicep. I pick up my headband and place it where Rarity had told me "ready?" Pinkie asks I turn around smiling "ready," I tell her

She grabs my arm and together we walk to the great hall. The doors were closed as we stood at the top of the stairs Apple Jack and Fluttershy came to join us at the top and Twilight and Rarity do the same. The six of us link arms and walk down to our dates. As I reach Soarin I take my arms from Apple Jack and Pinkie's and smile at him. "Hi" I say he looks me over his jaw wide open I laugh as he pulls me into a hug "you look beautiful" he whispers in my ear he pulls back and I look at him over "you clean up nice" I tell him winking he blushes as he takes my hand in his "Champions" Celestia calls the four champions to gather around with their dates "we'll wait from everyone to go in before introducing you and your dates." Celestia explains "and then you'll open the ball with a dance." she tells us we all nod and move off to the side letting everyone else go in first.

I look over at Angel Wings and smile when I see her date was Flash I look over to Sassy Saddles and see her date was someone from her own school that I didn't know. Celestia motions for Sassy and her date to come forward as they were introduced the crowd claps as they walk onto the dance floor "Angel Wings and Flash Sentry" the pair walk into the ball "Soarin and Rainbow Dash" as we're called Soarin takes my arm and leads me onto the dance floor. Once he place he takes one hand puts it on my waist and takes my other hand in his. The music starts up and he leads the dance. I smile at how good of a dancer he was as he twirled me on the dance floor. We both smile as the song ends "would you like a drink?" he asks I nod "I'll be over there" I say pointing to where Rarity was sitting next to her date.

"What's the deal?" I whisper in Rarity's ear "I've been waiting for him to ask me to dance" she tells me "seeing as you asked him shouldn't you ask him to dance?" I whisper she looks at me in surprise then nods "you're right" she says getting up "care to dance?" Rarity asks Blueblood he nods and takes her hand. I turn as I feel an arm wrap around my waist "here" Soarin says handing me a drink I smile at him as I take a sip of my fruit punch "thanks" I say he nods looking onto the dance floor I finish my drink and he takes my hand leading me back onto the dance floor.

Again he impresses me with his dancing abilities as we dance to the music "now for all the lovers out there we're going to take it slow" the DJ says Soarin smiles at me putting his hands around my waist we gently sway to the music and I put my head on his chest his arms wrap around me protectively as we sway he leans down and whispers "I never wanted you to be entered into this tournament. After I saw you at the cup I couldn't stop thinking about you and now that I have you in my arms I never want to let you go. This next task will be the hardest and most dangerous and I'm scared Rainbow. Not for myself but for you." he tells me pulling back to look me in the eyes "if something happens" he says blinking sadly I pull him close to me and whisper "nothing is going to happen" I tell him lightly "but you shouldn't be worried about that right now" I tell him "tonight we're here together and in this moment I couldn't be happier so let's enjoy now and worry about the task when it comes" I say

He smiles at me and leans down touching his lips to mine. I close my eyes as he gently presses his lips to mine he pulls back and we both smile at each other "you're right" he says smiling
