Soarin and I walk into class and sit down at the back. "Do you think she'll be a good teacher?" he whispers in my ear I shake my head "maybe it's all the pink but no I don't think so" I tell him he laughs then straightens his face as the teacher walks into the room. She writes on the chalkboard using her wand "good morning class" she smiles a little too brightly "I am your new defense against the dark arts teacher Professor Cozy Glow" she tells us Soarin snickers beside me I elbow him hiding my own laughter.

"The ministry has been looking for new ways to teach is a safe welcoming environment so they have made this wonderful textbook that allows students to learn without the use of magic" she explains as our texts books fly to each of us I look down at the cover and gag. It looked as if it should be in the children's section not in a fifth-year defense against the dark arts class "professor how are you to learn without our wands?" I ask she glares at me then straightens herself "students are to raise their hands in my classroom" she says avoiding my gaze Soarin raises his hand. "Yes?" she asks "I was wondering why we're not using our magic when we're at a school for magic," Soarin says

"I'd prefer for students to not mock me," she tells him he shakes his head "you misunderstand me, Professor, I'm just wondering why we're learning without magic?" Soarin asks again she smiles at him as if she wanted to kill him "the ministry does not like how the defense against the dark arts has been taught in the past" she tells him he nods "but how are we to defend our selves out in the real world?" I ask she glares at me "I will not ask again for you to raise your hand miss Dash" she tells me I raise my hand "how are we to protect ourselves" I repeat she smiles at me like I'd gone mad "my dear girl who would want to hurt you?" she asks "oh I don't know Chrysalis" I say she looks at me as if I'd lost my mind before taking a deep breath to control her anger.

"You have been told that a dark witch is back. I am here to tell you that it's a lie" she says slowly "It's not a lie!" I say angrily "detention!" she yells she laughs "I'll see you in my office tomorrow night at six o'clock" she tells me "I have quidditch" I tell her "you'll have to miss it" she tells me I look at Soarin who groans "do you have something to says Mr?" she looks down at her list "Soarin" she says he nods "I do. People have been murdered by Chrysalis and you say think that we should learn in a harm-free environment but when we go out there she won't hesitate to kill us" he says confidently I take his hand under the desk and squeeze it happy that he was standing up for me. "As I said before it's a lie Chrysalis is gone" she tells me "but she's not Rainbow saw her at the end of the year" Soarin argues Professor Cozy Glow closes her eyes and rubs the bridge of her noses "she's gone" Professor Cozy Glow says "then how did Angel Wings die?" Soarin asks Cozy Glow glares at me.

"Detention same time as Rainbow Dash," Professor Cozy Glow tells Soarin before turning to the board and telling us how much of our textbook we needed to read. By the end of class Soarin and I was tired of her high pitched voice and fake laugh. We walk out of class as soon as the bell rings. We walk into the great hall and sit side by side. "I can't believe it, " Pinkie says sitting across from us "she's a nightmare!" I say "honestly how will we defend ourselves?" Soarin asks Pinkie nods "the worst part is we have her for the rest of the year," she says I roll my eyes "don't remind me," I say

We dig into lunch glad that we didn't have her for the rest of the day but disappointed we'd have to see her tomorrow. "Maybe tomorrow's lesson will be better," Pinkie says I shake my head "I doubt it without a wand there's only so much you can do," I say sighing
