I sit down at the Gryffindor table with Smoulder at my side. Across from us Pinkie and Silverstream sit down "feeling better Dash?" Flash asks sitting on my other side I nod taking a bite of my toast. He nods grabbing his breakfast Pinkie and Silverstream starts a conversation when Smoulder taps my arm "what's up?" I ask turning to her "next year you won't be my mentor right?" she asks I nod she frowns "so you won't have to hang out with me" she says sadly I laugh "Smolder I don't even have to hang out with all I had to do was show you where your classes were the first week of school" I tell her "really?" she asks I nod and point at the other tables "none of the other mentors are sitting with their apprentices" I tell her "well some of them are in different houses but I'm not close with my apprentice" Flash tells Smoluder

She happily continues her eating when Limestone sits in between Smoulder and me "he's been sighted!" she yells pointing at the newspaper in her hand Pinkie takes the paper from her sister's hands "and not too far from here!" Pinkie says passing the paper to Silverstream she screams "this isn't good" I say holding my head "what is it?" Smoulder asks "Suri Polomare," I tell her she raises her eyebrow "you don't know?" Pinkie asks Smoulder shrugs "my parents don't like me reading the news" she says I shake my head "Suri Polomare is a murderer" I tell her Pinkie nods "she escaped from Azkaban a few months ago" Pinkie adds Smoulder gasps "but no one has ever escaped!" she says Flash nods "that's another thing no one knows how she escaped or where she's been" Flash tells her Silverstream shudders "until now" she says darkly

"But we're safe here" Smoulder says "the castle is safe" she says Pinkie and I exchange looks "if you consider a giant snake was kept in the castle with no one knowing safe" Pinkie says "or the most dangerous killer getting into the school and brainwashing a teacher" I add Smoulder shivers "did that really happen?" she asks Flash nods "yeah in the past two years" Flash tells the fearful girls who both shiver "but it's okay because both times Rainbow has saved the day" Flash tells them Smoulder gasps grabbing onto my arm "you have to tell me about that!" She says I nod "maybe another time," I tell her she nods

Apple Jack meets us outside the doors to the great hall "you heard?" she asks I nod "yeah it really freaked us out" I tell her she nods "me too Fluttershy isn't taking it well" she says nodding over at her. Fluttershy was shivering with fear and looking around her as if Suri Polomare would come out of nowhere and attack her at any moment I shake my head "I'll see you later" I tell Apple Jack as we walk different ways.

As we climb the stairs to the Gryffindor tower someone screams. I run up to Scootaloo as she stares gasping at the ripped painting in front of us "where's the fat lady?" Flash asks walking to stand next to us "how do we get in?" a fifth year asks "look out" Limestone says shouldering her way through the crowd "oh gosh" she gasps looking at the empty painting covered in cuts "what did this?" she asks walking up to the painting and touching the cuts "get Celestia" I tell Scootaloo she runs after and Smoulder takes her spot next to me "could it be Suri Polomare?" she asks I shake my head "no way she couldn't have gotten in" I tell her Flash elbows me and we exchange knowing looks. Silverstream taps my shoulder "Rainbow I don't know where Pinkie is" she tells me I sigh

"I don't either" I tell her she looks disappointed and afraid "it's okay she'll turn up soon" I say right before Celestia walks up to the portrait with Scootaloo and Pinkie trailing behind her "told ya" I say to Silverstream she nods as everyone turns to hear what Headmistress Celesta had to say. She runs her hand over to the scratches and looks around the other paintings around "there" she says pointing at a painting of a family dinner she walks up to it "dear lady what happened to you?" Celestia asks the fat lady who sobs "he's here!" she exclaims "the one they all talk about!" she screams "Suri Polomare! She did this!" She says breaking into a sob Celestia backs away from the painting and frowns thinking "Headmistress" I say she looks up at me "what are we supposed to do?" I ask

"I was just wondering the same thing" she replies
