Avelley grew up rather peacefull, dreamed of marrying a handsome, kind lord and be his lady, having children of her own and to live a happy live. When the war started house Velaryon was not affected and remained safe. She had heard stories of the Darkerly Murder which happened not much later after Brandon Starks fall down the tower. As the war was still going on her father did not have her wed anyone, since they would be forced into the battle if she did. Afterwards she got a message of the new queen, Toria Stark, formerly Darkerly, asking if she might me intrested in her older brother Riler who was lord of Dragonstone. She agreed to meet him out of curiousity, but ended up growing very strong feelings for him and eventually marrying him. They have four children all named after his family members, she was okay with naming them that since he had told her everything and she loved him so much. She died at the age of 75 still being able to see her son rule Dragonstone for four years after her husband passed.
