18 2 1

One of my older brothers is in the hospital right now and he's in a quarantine. I don't know what exactly is wrong with him, apparently he has a bunch of infections or something.

1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.
Hmm thinking about this, I kinda see this in myself. I mostly isolate myself from others cause I would rather do things my way and would rather be with myself.
Same. Also cause I usually think I'm right and those who disagree are annoying lol.

2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
So many people think that their opinion is right, and they think that everyone should know their opinion.
Idiots don't want to learn, contribute, or even think. He doesn't consider anyone else's opinion, but spouts his own and does his own thing without thinking.

3 When wickedness comes, contempt comes also, and with dishonor comes disgrace.
I like this verse. It says it how it is. Wickedness leads to a lot of things. Slippery slope, some might say.

4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.

5 It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the righteous of justice.

6 A fool's lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.
Roasted!😂
Damn, a roast for fools. Moral of the story, don't be a big mouth and watch what you say lol

7 A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul.

8 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.

9 Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys.

10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

11 A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination.

12 Before destruction a man's heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.

13 If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.
You gotta first know what the problem is before you give a solution. If you talk before you hear, you won't contribute anything.

14 A man's spirit will endure sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?
Physical pain and sickness is a lot easier to get through than mental or spiritually pain or sickness.
Same with moral. If you crush a person's spirit, they will not fight back. They will be weak and easy to subjugate. The Roman's learned this, and every thriving empire after them.

15 An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
My favourite quote so far.

16 A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.

17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.
It's easy to side with the person who's side of the story you hear first, hear both sides out before you take a side.

18 The lot puts an end to quarrels and decides between powerful contenders.

19 A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.

20 From the fruit of a man's mouth his stomach is satisfied; he is satisfied by the yield of his lips.

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Hmm, so basically a person's word can decide whether someone dies or not? That's what I got, and it's somewhat true, if you think about it.

22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.
So true.
That's a nice verse.

23 The poor use entreaties, but the rich answer roughly.

24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - Proverbs 18
Kinda vindicates me not having loads of friends. Sometimes you just need a tight knit group of friends who are of good character and and actually care for you, like Jess and Liam.
Yeah, I don't have many close friends, but a few close friends are a lot better than lots of not close friends. I really like our trio of friends.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for Your many blessings, thank you especially for Will and the time we could spend together today exploring cool houses and eating dinner, and thank you we can study Your word together. Please grant us many more years together if it is Your will. Thank you that Liam seemed a little healthier than earlier, please heal him completely. Please also heal my brother's infections and bring my brothers to You if it is Your will. Thank you for everyone in my prayer journal, please bless and keep them and show them Your love, in Jesus's name, Amen

Dear Jesus,
I thank you for a great day today. Thank you that I can spend some time with special people who are fun and caring. I pray that me and Jess can spend even more time together in the near future. Dear Lord I pray that my trip to Ottawa will be a safe and less boring one. Thank you for the friends and family in my life and bless them as they have blessed me. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
