Everyone was in a stand still - tahimik at nagmamasid kung ano ang mangyayari sa tinginan ni Nickko and Nina. At dahil parang wala namang umiimik, I took the initiative para ayusin kung ano man ito. Firstly, hindi makakaganda sa usapan namin kung papakita nila na ang awkward vibe pag magkasama sila. Pangalawa, andito ang buong pamilya na walang kaalam alam sa mga nangyayari at isama mo pa si Gerard na mukhang nagpipigil nalang sa gilid. Pangatlo, nagseselos na ako kahit wala ako karapatan. Siguro naman valid reasons na yun para magsalita ako diba?
"Babe." Ang mala kontrobersiyang bungad ko. At as expected, lahat sila nagtinginan saaming dalawa.
"Babe?" Ang mahinang pagkatanong ni Nina.
"Yup! We made it official just recently." Ang sagot ko sa tanong ni Nina habang sinesenyasan si Nic na umupo sa seat na sinave ko sakanya, syempre sa tabi ko.
He smiled gracefully, greeted the parentals and then made his way to me - all in a suave Nickko Romano manner. Hindi ko alam kung paano niya nagagawa yon, pero when he does something, he makes sure na it would be in such a way na kahit hindi ka agree sa actions niya, mapapa oo ka nalang. That's what literally happened to my dad. Nung narinig niya na kami na, nakita ko sa pagka kunot ng mata niya na aangal na siya pero when Nic greeted him, nag ease agad ang reaction niya. Ibang klase.
"Kelan ka nagkaroon ng bagong boyfriend, Ang?" Excited na tanong ni Tita. I can see in the way she looks at me, the way her eyes sparkle na she wanted this for me. Maybe to ease the guilt she was feeling because of what her daughter did? I don't know.
"Um, well.." Nagsmile ako sakanya sabay tingin kay Nickko in a loving manner. It's showtime afterall at sino ba naman ang hindi mabibighani by a Greek god in a nice suit diba? "Babe?" Pero syempre, hindi parin nawawala sa isip ko ang tinginan na naganap kanina. Kaya to get my mini revenge, I'll let Nic handle the questions.
But like the usual Nic, he wasn't fazed at all. He smiled at me tapos softly tapped my nose with his finger as a sign of affection before he faced Tita. "She gave me a chance to treat her right just recently Mrs.?" Tumigil siya and waited for Tita to reply.
"Ay nako, iho. Just call me tita, afterall, we are all family here." She said while smiling at the both of us.
"Ahh, tama tama." Second the motion naman si Tito. And just like that, they looked livelier than before. Knowing na I'm in a relationship must've lightened their mood.
If only they knew the truth.
Breathe, Angel. Stop overthinking.
"Tsk, hindi pa tayo naguusap anak."
Lumaki ang aking mga mata at muntik madura ang tubig na ininom ko sa sinabi ni Papa. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako magugulat, the fact na gusto niya kausapin si Nic or sa pag tawag niya na "anak" sakanya.
What is happening?!?!
And by the looks of it hindi lang ako ang nagulat dahil pati si Nickko ay napaubo sa sinabi ni Papa and is that a slight hint of red sa ears niya? I looked closer, making my face an inch away from Nic's cheek.
"Are you........" I whispered. "blushing?"
Hindi ko na naipagmalaki ang win ko against Nic's ego kasi after that something crashed hard on the floor. We all just heard a crash, hindi namin alam ang talagang nangyari but all we saw is a broken plate and smashed food near Nina.
"Omigod, what is happening?" She asked while looking at Gerard.
"Jusko, Nina, are you okay?" Tumayo si Tita at pinuntahan ang anak niya, looking for scratches or bruises.
"Ano nangyare?" Tanong ni Tito.
"S-s-orry, nahihilo kasi ako kaya nalaglag ko yung plato." She leaned to Gerard's shoulders.
"Paki lapag nalang yung mga pagkain sa mesa." Ang sabi ni Papa. And after a while, ang dami nang pagkain sa mesa and the staffs went back to the kitchen, leaving us on the table, family only.
Basically, they left a sick whiny Nina.
"It's ruined! Dapat perfect yung taste testing ngayon, pero wala na." She cried hysterically.
"Gerard, please anak, pakikuha ng tissue sa banyo."
Umalis si Gerard sa tabi ni Nina, leaving her with no one to hold on to na siya namang tinake niya in offense. Tumayo siya at susundan sana si Gerard pero biglang nahulog midway, like her knees just suddenly gave out and since malapit siya saamin ni Nic, it was like instinct to Nic na saluhin siya before she hit the ground.
"Jusko Nina!" Tumakbo si Tita sakanya. "Get the car, Hun. Hatid natin sa hospital si Nina." Tumingin siya kay Nic at sinabing, "Pasensya iho ahh." At dali dali silang pumunta sa labas with Nickko carrying Nina leaving me, dad and Gerard na kumukuha ng tissue.
What just happened? Hindi ko maintindihan. I'm so confused. I looked at the table and saw the dishes, iba iba. Ang dami, so I did what a normal stressed person would do.
Get one and eat.
And it just so happens na nakain ko ay chicken rolls.
Chicken.
And I'm super allergic to chicken.
Shoot.
And just like that my throat suddenly started closing and I couldn't breathe.
I barely heard Gerard and Dad calling my name before everything went black.
