Or rather peel away the feelings lingering

Letting it sink in, that we are sinking
Slowly sinking from the numbing pain.Do we drink because we want to forget?
Or rather remember how to forget?
For we are too far drunk on the idea of love
Only love can save us from the sobriety of being unloved.Do we drink because we want to escape?
Or rather be once again caged?
In the belief that we were once the "constant"
But will never be the "always"?
