Have you ever felt the need to be so protective of yourself? You fake a smile just to convince people even yourself that everything is alright.
You walk with confidence not knowing exactly where to go. It's like getting lost where you can never be found by anyone else but yourself.
So much has changed, you can't even figure where to begin again. At some point in life, you knew exactly where to go.
However, one single heartache changed everything. It changed your priorities, your perceptions in life, and even those people around you.
You knew exactly how it felt to be unwanted. The feeling that you are not enough. You give love, you care too much, that you hurt yourself just because you don't really get as much as you give.
Yes, you've been broken. However, looking back, it made you strong. Strong enough that it made you look tough.
Tough on the outside but with a heart so big than you choose people to see. Sometimes you push people away, because you are afraid to become vulnerable. So you built walls around you.
These walls – for the longest time they towered above you. You didn't know how long they've been around. You just knew it felt safe to keep them.
In the process of nursing a broken heart you shy away from people and missed the opportunity of truly being loved. Fear is too overwhelming.
Your only wish is to finally have the courage of breaking these walls and let your guard down.
Until then, go on living like you've never been hurt. Laugh those tears away.
