"Words That Were Too Late"

Let's get one thing straight, I'm not coming back for you anymore. But that doesn't mean that I didn't love you. There was a time in my life where you were everything.

Weirdly enough, that was also the last time I felt I was something in someone's life as well. I loved you ever so dearly and I'd like to believe you also loved me as much as I did and maybe even more.

And that's why all of this hurts like hell. It's the fact that I saw the very best of what we had and what could've been but I was too late.

I had a chance to make it last and I definitely had to unlearn a lot of things, I just didn't think that I had to unlearn you.

But I had to learn new things as well, like loving you from afar. Not because of fear or necessity, but because it was the only choice I had. I also had to learn and accept the fact that the love and life you deserve is one where I'm not a part of.

I've hurt you to the point where I'm not even worthy of a conversation or even a phone call. And I understand that. But if it's any worth, I think I'll never be able to unlearn how to love you.

When you love someone for so long, it becomes a routine. You know what makes them tick like a sixth sense.

And I think that's the thing that I'll have with me forever- that there was a time in my life where you were my everything.

But now it's time to accept one last thing- that maybe the best version that our loved ones can be is the person they are when they're no longer with us.

And if that's the case, I'm sure you'll end up being the best thing I never had. Sorry.
