Some people know that they are in love when someone makes them happy, alive, or inspired. But as for me, I know I love you because it hurts.
I love you because it burns seeing you with someone else having all that dreamy characteristics I do not have. I love you because it aches knowing that all I can do is write you down in pages, but not own you. I love you because I know that no amount of pain could stop me from doing so.
I once believed that love is felt most in daylight hugs, sunshine kisses, or daydream touches. But now, I realized that it is felt most in midnight cries, secret stares, and gray-colored "what ifs".
And baby, I know I love you because it hurts.
