POETRY THAT STAYS

It will hurt, yes. But slowly, it won't.

So here's the thing. It's not going to be easy to forget someone you loved.

You aren't gonna magically wake up one day and not wonder what happened to them and how they are now.

Sometimes, leaving can just make you more stuck on them. Why did they leave? Where did we go wrong? Could I have prevented it?

Natural questions yes, but ones you will never get answers to. At least not honest ones. Because no one ever paints themselves a villain no matter what.

I know it is hard. It is hard to move on from someone who you never imagined wouldnt be in your life. Someone you wanted to give your everything to. Someone who promised you that they were different and they certainly wouldn't break your heart like the rest of the world.

But look here kid, it's no use staying in a place which is hopeless. It's no use expecting thorns to suddenly sprout roses. It will take time yes, but you've gotta move ahead.

Take a walk, read a book, write, draw, work out, learn to live again. You cant and shouldn't go back to your past just because it is familiar. You and shouldn't be the only one giving chances upon chances to someone who refuses to change no matter what your history.

It will hurt, yes. But slowly, it wont.

And one day you'll look at the stars and not wish to have their hand in yours. And that is when you will have certainly moved on.
