I have never held her;
But why does it have to feel like I lost her?
In all of the mornings that sun rays touch my body; and she is not here
To sprinkle on my cheeks --- her kisses
Tied along with her brightful smile.
Does it have to feel like I lost her?
In all the evenings that the moon looks
Through my eyes,
Only to remember she never looked
At me once.
Never in that way: never even
In any other way.
Does in this way I have to feel
The loneliness of the night?
Does it have to tear me apart?
Does it have to break my heart?
Does it have to feel like I lost her
To write like I lost her? in every sheet
Of paper i used to write to?
In all of the lifetimes
I used to live to?
Does it have to feel like she had slipped out
Of my hands, for all my life, when I never had
Held her once?
