Don't wait for me
at the playground
that took good part of our childhood.
don't wait for me
at the local 24/7 diner
we used to frequent beyond our curfew.
don't wait for me in places we used to go
whenever our homes didn't give us the home feeling.
don't wait for me elsewhere
in our one red light town honey
for i won't be there.
and i've put some miles under my kicks,
and i've got a lot of things on my mind
but coming back isn't on the list.
