Aiden's P.O.V
"Dude, what the actual fuck. You guys act like a couple but you haven't even asked her out?" River scolds me.
I sigh and ran my fingers through my hair. It's kinda weird because I haven't even asked Avalon to be my girlfriend yet, and it's bothering the living shit out of me.
I always thought it was no need for that because we already act like a couple but I like the idea of calling her my girlfriend.
"You guys are honestly weird," River adds before he grabs a beer from the fridge.
School was tomorrow. Beverly and Avalon went out shopping today since it was a little nicer, even if the clouds were still dark.
"What do I do, man?" I ask and run my fingers through my hair again nervously. He sits down on the couch and pops the beer open.
I'm glad me and River are back on the same track. At least I have someone else to talk to, since Hunter bailed out on us.
"I don't know. Ask her I guess, I'm pretty sure she'll say yes," River encourages me.
"And what if she doesn't?" I ask.
Always bad news.
River rolls his eyes, "stop over thinking it."
I nod my head.
This situation was very frustrating. I don't do girlfriends but Avalon is definitely girlfriend material.
Maybe wifey material.
Being in relationships is so complicated but I feel as if me and Avalon could make it work. She's the love of my life. When I thought about getting her name tatted on me the tattoo artist thought I was crazy. But I was so sure of myself.
That's the craziest thing I've ever done.
"Do you love her?" River asks as he takes a swig of his beer.
"Of course," I say without hesitation.
River eyes widened, "really?"
"Yes."
The door opened and the girls came stumbling in, full of giggles. River and I got up from the couch and their hands were full of bags.
They looked at us and smiled even bigger.
"Did you guys bring any food?" River asks with his hands out.
"No," Avalon giggles, I giggle i fell in love with.
He pouts, "babe. I specifically said get food."
"I was not about to do that. There's food in the fridge, plus you have food at home," Beverly replies and roll her eyes.
"You sound like my mom," River crosses his arms in a childish way. "But we're off that topic. Aiden has a question for Avalon."
"He does?" She questions.
"I do?" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
"Yes," River says before grabbing Beverly and leading her out the kitchen.
Avalon looks at me with those hazel eyes and her eyebrows raised.
"Is there something you need to ask me," she takes a step closer.
I swallow the lump in my throat.
I've never been more nervous in my life.
My heart was pounding so hard against my chest.
"I... um..." I stumbled swallowing another lump in my throat.
Are you fucking serious?
Why does she do these things to me?
She places her hand on my chest and bites her bottom lip.
She knows what that does to me!
I wouldn't be wrong if I take her on the counter right now, right?
"Are you gonna ask me?" She asks.
I take a deep breath. I've never really asked a girl to date me
"Will you be my girlfriend?" I blurt out.
She looks at me.
Fuck. It feels as if I made a huge mistake.
Maybe we were better off what we are.
It takes her a moment. Her eyes staring deep into mine.
Say something!
"No." She finally says.
She backs up and crosses her arms.
"What?" I say and furrow my eyebrows.
I've never felt more heartbroken in my life.
It's like my world was crashing down. That one simple word, two letters, one syllable.
"I thought we were already dating," she breaks out into a smile.
I take a break of relief. She wraps me in a hug and laughs.
"You should've seen your face," she laughs and pulls away.
"Don't scare me like that butter cup," I say and peck her lips.
She laughs again.
I really love this girl.
