Kaden's POV

I awoke from my deep sleep because of movement on my side, groaning I pried my eyes open and looked around seeing Evangelina curled up tightly in a ball against my side. She looked like a cold kitten, I decided I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep seeing as it was already 8 am and huffed while getting up and making my way to the bathroom to get ready.

Today, I believe my sister, Kristiana was coming to visit, I thought it would be a good idea to let her and Evangelina go to the mall and shop for clothes or whatever she needs, she did look like a baby in my clothes and it was cute but she needed stuff for herself. 

I felt annoyed when I thought about having to meet with my father today and set up an official meeting to introduce the people of the kingdom to their future queen. I realized there was only a few months left before the coronation and wedding had to take place, then my entire life would change forever. My thoughts did drift to Crystal and I had to remind myself not to beat myself up about it too much since the wound was still fresh and it would take time to get over her. I looked down feeling the same flicker of sadness I always felt when my thoughts drifted to her now, but I quickly shook those thoughts away not wanting Evangelina to feel any of the sadness I felt.

Finishing up in the bathroom I walked out into my bedroom and looked up to see Evangelina still huddled in bed shivering slightly, I sighed and walked towards the bed adjusting the duvet so she would be warmer. My hand brushed her arm softly and I almost jolted at the sparks I felt, I clenched my jaw, annoyed at my body's response to her, I knew it was the bond but I couldn't indulge in that right now, it would be unfair to enter something with her when I was still hooked up on Crystal. With that thought I made sure she was tucked in and turned to leave to go to my father's study.

"Kaden" I heard her softly whisper, her voice sounded like she was in-between sleep and being awake. I turned to look at her and saw her eyes still closed but she faced me
"Could you lay here for a while, please. I feel weak but I somehow feel stronger with you there" she muttered tiredly, I knew it was because her body was drained and I also knew the strength she felt was due to the bond between us. 

"Sure" I sighed as I made my way back to the bed, I laid down next to her in my long sleeved sweater and jeans while she snuggled into my side, falling asleep almost instantly. Maybe I'll just let her rest today and have my sister and her go out tomorrow instead, she seemed really weak right now. 

After sometime of laying there wrapped up in my own thoughts, I figured I should head out and leave her resting. I turned to watch her seeing her looking relaxed and comfortable, I tried to move slowly so I didn't wake her and walked to the door. I quickly made my way to my father's office knowing I was already late to our 'meeting' 

When I entered his office, I saw my father in a deep conversation with our head of security but he seemed in a decent mood since he wasn't shouting obscenities. He turned to me and nodded in acknowledgement, I did the same and sat on one of the desk chairs around the large table where he held all his meetings with the heads of each division in the kingdom.

"Son" my father exclaimed, grinning down at me before he grabbed a chair and sat next to me, I instantly became weary, my father almost never smiled at me. We didn't have a bad relationship but it was mostly formal, we only really talked about business. 

"Father" I replied with a frown feeling out of place by his cheerful demeanor.

"Well I've heard from guards that you and Evangelina are bonding well" he replied with his same grin plastered on his face, I huffed, I should have known that was what his mood was about.

"Father, I am being civil with the woman and mature about the situation" I replied slightly annoyed by my father's sudden interest in my personal life.
