"Hey! How was your little holiday" I internally groan
"It was good, how's things been without me" I reply trying not to show my utter hate for being here right now
"Honestly they've been a little busy but we've done good"

I put my handbag to the side and join Farhan and Jason on the table, Alice following behind me
"Okay whats our next project?" I fold my arms

"We've got to quickly move on to the clothing line, we're working towards the deadline of the 27th of January 2021" Farhan hands me a small portfolio, "these are your designs so far which obviously have a lot to be added to them so we'll be trying to finalise the designs today so we can start the production and then the promotions and photoshoots and stuff"

Ugh remind me why I came back to work?

"How are the nail polish sales doing?" I ask to no-one in particular
"Quite good actually, obviously you're selling to a wide range of Muslim customers so we're doing good" Jason replies
"Okay" I sigh before getting to work

It's been five hours and I've been trying to get this last design perfected like all the others but I can't seem to work it out.

I'm stuck in thought when my phone rings and I look over to see it's Harris ringing me
"Hey" I answer tiredly
"Hey why do you sound so tired?"
"Because I've been sitting in the same place for the past five hours trying to get this done" I explain
"What is it that you're doing?"
"It's the designs for my clothing line, I've done them all except one"
"Maybe I can help, you want me to come over?" He asks
"You're so sweet to ask but Alice, Jason And Farhan went to pick up some food and they'll be back any minute"
"Why is this stressing you out so much?"

Is he serious?

"Are you serious? Harris this has to be done tonight so production can start" I reply frustratedly
"Zara, you've done all the other ones, just don't stress and the ideas will flow" why is his voice so calming?
"Besides, you have some pretty sick ideas" he finishes

I look at the empty design in front of me and the ideas in my mind feel like they're just rushing around and I don't have enough time to acknowledge them.
I close my eyes take a few deep breaths and open them again to see Farhan, Alice and Jason stood in front of me.

"What are you doing?" Farhan asks putting the bags of food down on the table

"Harris I gotta go I'll talk to you later"
"Okay, bye" I switch my phone off and put it down next to me
"Harris, huh?" Alice asks opening her box of food
"Hmm?" I ask, not quite sure what she means
"You didn't tell me you were speaking to Harris"
"We're just talking, nothing special" I shrug munching on some chips

"Anyways..." Jason starts, giving Alice a look, "have you finished the last design?" He looks down at the empty outline and sighs
"Look I'm trying, my brain feels empty!" I huff
"Here give it to me" Farhan offers and I raise an eyebrow
"Really?" I question

He sketches a little bit before handing me the paper and I squint my eyes, "I mean it's nothing amazing, I still need to add to it" I laugh and he replies with a mocking smile 

Love how it literally took him two seconds to come up with an idea and I actually had a breakdown over it. Love that for me!

As I'm eating I get a message which distracts me from my Instagram feed

Harris: Hey I know you're busy with work and stuff but can we meet at the roof at 8?

I look at the time and then the amount of work I have left to do for today

Me: can we make it 8.30?

Harris: yep x

"Hey can we be done by 8?" I ask and Jason nods his head whilst flicking through my designs
"The designs look pretty much done" he comments and I feel myself relaxing for the first time today
"Oh thank God" I sit back in my seat and Farhan laughs
"There's still some time to go until this is all done you know?"
"I know but the designs really drained my energy today"

I finish my food and spend a little time looking through my emails and replying to any that I needed to.
"If everyone's ready we can head home now?" Alice says and we all nod our heads getting out of our seats

"I'll see you guys tomorrow" I yawn making my way over to my car
I quickly drove home and ran straight to my wardrobe. I wanted to go for a comfy but cute outfit and I only had 30 minutes left until I had to meet Harris

I slipped into a pair of black jeans and an oversized hoodie and a pair of black trainers. I wrapped a black hijab around my head and grabbed my bag.

Once I got into my car I realised I had taken my eye contacts out so I frantically searched through my bag for my glasses before quickly putting them on and driving off to the posh side of town.

I make my way over to the room making sure to sneak around exactly how Harris did when he brought me here the first time around.
"Hey you made it" he shoots me his million dollar smile
"Yeah, hi" I breathe and he pulls me into a hug

"I've never seen you in glasses" he walks over to the edge of the roof and sits down and I follow him, "you look cute"
He scrunches his nose with a smile and I smile softly

"So what's up" I turn to him
He takes a big, deep breath,
"So I think I have my first song all ready and I want you to be the first one to hear it"

"Aww really?" I gush and he shyly nods his head
"Okay go ahead" I tell him and he presses play

"So what did you think?" He looks up at me because he hasn't been looking at my face the whole time because he claims he's too shy to share his work with me

"Wait hold on why are you crying?" He asks looking slightly worried
I chuckle and wipe away my tears with a sniffle,
"I think it's such an amazing song, I couldn't not cry" I shrug still a little emotional

"Really?" He smiles a big smile and I nod my head
"My favourite bit was the lyric, my favourite thing to ever do is stare up at the stars if I could I swear I'd lay there everyday"

"You wanna watch the stars with me?" He asks and I nod my head

And you know what? I wish I could lay here everyday too
