Friday came around quickly and I had left work earlier to get home and get ready for our little date. Harris hadn't really spoken to me properly over the last week even though he said it wasn't a big deal, I guess it was. I mean, I have no idea what he had even planned for us two to do.

All I know was that he had told me to dress casual - so that's what I'm going to do.
I was going to wear a pair of black skinny jeans, a white tshirt tucked into my jeans, an oversized borg shirt which I was going to leave open and top it all off with a pair of vans. I spent some time on my makeup because I wanted it to look very autumnal with like 50 shades of brown on my face, but mostly because I wanted to use my new brown lipstick. I wrap a hijab around my head and put my shoes on.

I put the stuff I think I'll need in a bag, like my keys, some chewing gum, some powder in case my face gets all oily and of course some perfume. To pass some time I watch a little bit of TV and at exactly 7.13pm my phone pings with a text from Harris telling me he's outside.

My heart sinks a little because he would usually come knocking at my door or at least ring me - he must still be a little pissed off at me. I grab the little sparkly silver gift bag with his present in and lock my apartment door before running to his car because it is FREEZING.

"Hey" I smile as I sit down
He looks at me with a slight annoyed expression and I sigh
"Okay look, before we go" I shuffle so my whole body is positioned towards him, "I'm really really really really sorry about cancelling, I promise it won't ever happen again, but I really missed you and I don't want you to be annoyed at me before we go"

He chews at his lip, I guess not knowing what to say?

"Oh! and... I got you something to say sorry" I put the small bag in front of him and he looks at me before opening it

"I don't know if you'll get it but when I saw it, it reminded me of the time you came with me to get them heels and it started snowing"

He holds the snowflake hanging between his fingers before a grin breaks out on his face
"Thank you" he chuckles hanging the snowflake on the rear-view mirror, "and don't feel bad, I was just being a drama queen"

"So where's my hug?" I ask and he opens his arms for me and we do an awkward but long awaited hug in his car
"You look peng by the way" he comments as he turns out of the street onto the main road and I blush

"So where are we going?"
"We..." he stops to concentrate on turning into the street, "...are going to a funfair"
I gasp, "no way"
He nods his head, "that's why I was a bit pissed that you cancelled because today's the last day"
"Aww" I reach over to pinch his cheek, "I'm so sorry"
"Oi stop it" he laughs pushing my hand away

My ears tune into the background music coming from the aux. I grab his phone from the holder and scroll through his music
"You won't like any of my music" he comment looking over at me and then back at the road
"Who said I won't?"
He just shrugs

"Oh my god I love this song" I gush playing Link Up by Geko, Stefflon Don, Dappy and Deno
"Oh yessssss" Harris turns the music up and we vibe to it

Ten minutes later we pull up at a car park where you can see the lights of the funfair a few metres ahead
"So, which ride first?"
"You choose" he says as we reach the entrance

It's not that busy today, I'm guessing because it's the last day the funfair is on.
"Lets go on the spinning one" I point at the one towards our left and he shakes his head
"Nah g, forget that" he laughs shaking his hand
"Wha-" I stop and huff, "don't tell me you're scared"
"I'm not scared, I just get really dizzy" he shrugs and my shoulders drop

"Zara?" My head snaps to my right and my eyes meet with a couple or guys
"Yes?" I slowly answer, quite confused
"You don't remember me?" The one in the middle says
"Uhhhh, whats your name?" I ask trying not to come across as rude
He chuckles a little, "Hamza Abbas"

He used to be fat

My eyes widen, "no way! How are you?!"
"I'm alright" he smiles, "started going to the gym"
He flexes his arms a little
"I can tell" I raise my eyebrows

"So, are you gonna go on the spinning one?" He asks looking to our left
"Yeah, are you?" He nods his head

I look at Harris, "do you want to wait down here for me while I quickly go on this ride"
He clears his throat and I feel him tense up, "Nah I'm coming with you, what you saying"

I lead the way to the ride and once we're seated, I notice Hamza and his friends are on the booth in front of us
"Harris are you sure you're good with this?"
I didn't want him to feel dizzy or anything
"Yeah I'm fine, relax" he puts his hand on my knee and I sit back

Once the ride ends and we get off, Harris stumbles and I grab him just before he falls to the floor
"Whoa, are you alright?"
He mutters a yeah but I don't believe him

I drag him to a nearby bench and we sit there for a while until he regains his balance
"Why did you do that?" I ask
"Do what"
"Come on the ride even though you knew you didn't like it"
"I changed my mind"
I sigh looking into his eyes, "tell me"
"That guy was trying to move to you" he says, "in front of me"

"No he wasn't! We're just old friends and he was saying hi" I explain to him but he shakes his head
"He was moving to you and I can't allow that, cause your mine" at the moment I avoid eye contact because he is making me feel some type of way
