"Are you ready to g- oh wow" I turn around to see Harris stood at the doorway of my bedroom
I smile at this reaction, "yes I'm done, I didn't expect to take a whole hour"
"Baby if you're looking like that, I don't even care" he walks over slowly to me and places his hands on my hips, "you're so beautiful"

He whispers it but it's loud enough to send shivers all the way down my spine and make me blush
"Let's go before we get late"
I grab my purse off the bed and we walk down to Harris's car

It's a short drive to the reception hall and once we get there I notice Farhan sitting on a table speaking to a woman with a hijab on.
"Hey Farhan" I greet once we get closer and he smiles, "you remember Harris?"
"How you doing mate?" Harris shakes his hand and Farhan nods his head
I gesture at him to introduce the lady,
"Oh um this is Saima my wife, Saima this is Zara from work"

My eyes widen like saucepans,
"You didn't tell us you were married"
"He likes to keep things mysterious, half of his friends don't know about me" Saima explains with a smile and I smile back at her
"Well it's so nice to meet you" I lean in for a hug and she does the same

Once we sit down at the table, I sit next to Saima and Farhan and Harris sit next to each other
"So are you two a couple or..." she questions
"We're not an official couple but something like that" I shrug
"What do you mean not official?"
"He hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend but he behaves like my boyfriend and we are at a wedding together" I explain
"That's a bit weird though don't you think?"
"It is but I'm not big about labelling things, we're good how we are" I nod my head and she smiles
"I didn't mean to be intrusive I was just curious but as long as you're happy that's all that matters" she smiles
"It's completely fine don't worry about" I wave my hands, "so how long have to been together with Farhan?"

She clears her throat, "we got an arranged marriage and we've been together for three years but we were a bit rocky in the beginning"
"What do you mean 'rocky'?" I ask
"He never fully agreed to the arranged marriage but he did it for his parents and I think because of that he never tired with me so I never tried with him. For a full year we were like strangers to each other. It's still not what I would like it to be but Alhamdullilah we're much better than what we used to be"

"You are so strong, I would never have been able to deal with a situation like yours as well as you did" I say
"It was so hard at times I think once we started to realise we had to love each other for the sake of Allah and not for each other, it just happened naturally" she adds
"Can I give you a hug?" I ask and she smiles
"Of course" she replies pulling me into a hug

"You seemed to hit it off with Farhan's wife"
Right now me and Harris had just left the hall and we were walking back to his car
"Yeah she's really sweet bless her, she's been through a lot"
"In what way?"

He opens the car door for me and I sit inside before he closes it
"Their marriage was arranged and for a year they lived together like strangers"
"They don't seem that bad now?" He questions
"She said they started to see how they had to love each other for the sake of Allah and their marriage has improved since then"

He just hums in response
"So what else did you speak about?"
My mind wanders to the conversation we had in the beginning about what me and Harris were and I debate whether it's a good idea to bring that up or not
"Nothing" I reply going with the latter
"Is it some girly shit you can't share?" He laughs and I roll my eyes
"No it's just... nothing" I sigh
"Zara tell me" he places his hand on my thigh and I look to my left so he can't see my face

"You're just gonna get angry" I simply reply
"Now you have to tell me" he demands
"It's not a big deal just leave it" I push his hand off my leg

I notice we're near my block of apartments and instead of turning the corner, he parks up at the side.
"You're gonna make me walk?" I ask
"Shut up" he turns to me, "what's up with you?"

He gives me a look and I sigh, slumping into the car seat.
"She was just speaking about how it's weird that we're together but not officially and she's not the first person"
"Who else?" He asks
"Your sisters"
He sighs, "Zara if you want to label this then label it, why does it have to be a big deal?"
"That's not the point"
"What is the point then?"
"It's not about the stupid label it's about the reassurance and I never get that from you" I mutter
"What do you mean?"
"I don't even know where this is going, most days I feel like I'm just entertaining you without any real knowledge of what we are exactly"

"Listen to me" he takes my hands in his, "what we have isn't something I want to waste and I'm not trying to waste your time but I don't wanna label you as my girlfriend because you deserve something more but if you want me to call you my girlfriend then I will"

"It's different if I've had to ask for it, I don't want it anymore" I mumble
"Don't show me attitude I just reassured you" he sasses
"Shut up" I push his shoulder trying to bite back a smile
"Baby are you okay now?" He asks and I nod my head
"I'm fine"
