"So we're really doing this tomorrow?" I ask and he nods
"We could've done it at your apartment why you gotta do it at your parents?" He asks
"You're asking for my hand from my parents and this is where they live" I reply and he laughs
"You gonna dress up all cute for me yeah?" He asks
"Erm, no" I reply
"Oh I just remembered I have somewhere else to be tomorrow I guess we can't do it anymore" he says cheekily
"Don't you don't dare leave me like that" I say in a sudden serious tone
"You think I would?"
I just shrug in response

"Wha-" he starts but stops, "you actually think I would?"
"Well I like to think you wouldn't" I say
"That's cause I won't you arse" he replies and my jaw drops and he smirks
"Shut up" he laughs

"So I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I say realising we'd been on FaceTime for two hours
"Yes, I love you" he smiles
"I love you too"
"Bye baby"
"Bye"

I end the FaceTime and feel my heart exploding with so much love. I'm aware how moist I sound but no boy has ever made me feel like this.

I lean my head back in my bed and close my eyes, falling asleep with a smile on my face

"What's he like?" My mum asks for the millionth time
"Ami just wait until he comes, I promise you'll like him" I say taking a sip from my tea

Mum is busy cooking food for when Harris and his parents come around and Kaisar and Maira were coming over later too.
"Go get ready they'll be here soon" my mum rushes me taking the cup out of my hand
"There's two hours yet mum" I reply
"That's how long you take to get ready, hurry up and go take a shower" she practically pushes me out the door

I trudge upstairs and check my phone to see no messages from Harris which is weird but then again he is coming over later on so whatever.

I put my phone on charge and hop into the bath.

An hour later I'm sat on my bed in nothing but a towel wondering how it had actually come to this. Me and Harris hadn't even known each other a year and we were already getting married. Is it too soon?

I get distracted by a knock at my door
"Wait" I shout jumping up and replacing my towel with a dressing gown
I open the door to see my dad stood there
"Hello" I say enveloping him into a hug
"Your mum sent me to check on you"
"Tell her I'll be there soon" I roll my eyes and be smiles
"Okay"

I shut the door behind me and get into some traditional clothes before doing my makeup and then hijab. Whilst I'm doing my makeup Maira walks into my room
"Oh hello" I smile as soon as I see her face through the crack of the door
"Hey are you ready yet?" She asks closing the door and sitting on my bed
"Still doing my makeup, gotta look cute today" I reply

"So, who is this guy?" She asks obviously referring to Harris and instantly my face breaks into a smile
"He's just this amazing guy I met at my awards ceremony" I reply keeping it short

I didn't want to give too much away especially since he'd be here in a couple hours
"Oh come on" she moans, "you gotta give me more than that?"
"What more do you want" I laugh
"Tell me what he looks like"

I sigh, "okay he's just below 6ft, he has curly hair, dimples, hazel-brown eyes, faint freckles on his face and the cutest smile"

Okay I miss him now

"Giiiiirl, he sounds amazing" she gushes and I smile back shyly
"He is"

I get back to finishing my makeup and then wrap my hijab around my head and finally I was ready.
"What time are they coming?" Maira asks
"Around half 6" I reply looking up at the clock on my wall

We have about 20 minutes to spare

We make our way downstairs and I greet Kaisar on the way there who was, shocker, stuffing his face with samosas
"Do you not feed him at home?" I ask Maira to which he mumbles a 'shut up'

I spend the next 20 minutes lying on the sofa trying to get my mind of the butterfly sanctuary that just opened in my stomach

20 minutes go by and my nerves get worse because they should be here any minute
30 minutes pass and still... no one

I check my phone but I haven't got a single text or call from him the whole day
"Zara text him to find out where he is" Maira suggests and I nod my head

I put my phone aside and stare at the ceiling. Crazy thoughts were running through my mind

What if he's got into an accident?
Did his parents say no?
Or even worse, does he not wanna be with me anymore?

I feel my heart break at the possible reasons why it's been 38 minutes and they're still not here

Suddenly my phone starts ringing, thinking it's him, I quickly pick it up to see it's an unsaved number

"Hello?" I ask
"Hey Zara" AJ's voice answers
"AJ?"
"Yeah it's me"
"Hey where's Harris and your parents, they still haven't turned up and they were supposed to be here nearly an hour ago"
"Erm" he clears his throat, "about that"
I sit up in my seat, "what's up"

My heart is beating so fast right now

"They're not coming"
"What do you mean they're not coming?"
I see Kaisar pipe up from the corner of my eye
"Like... Erm... he kinda can't do..." there's a huge deep breath, "...this anymore"
"What do you mean this?" My heart is literally in my stomach right now
"You and him" he replies cautiously
My heart drops to my feet as I hear the dial tone
