"So did you guys hear?"

I looked up at Lina who was leaning against her locker which was next to mine and rolled my eyes.

"Babes you're friends with the gossip band, not us."

Lina stuck her tongue out before continuing. "Anyway hot topic on the streets is that Dobora's brother and his gang attacked Roman Winter for dumping his sister."

Miley snorted from the other side of the Lina, and Lina shifted her attention away so neither noticed me freeze in my place.

After my little charade in the car, we had drove up in silence to the hospital. While the other three quickly rushed out of the car, Declan lingered to say thanks before following his friends inside.

A week has gone by and the situation still makes me wanna pee in my pants. Because I had been so worried about Dobora's brother that I forgot who Roman Winter was for a moment.

Then I had gotten home and found from Arden that Roman had beaten Dobora's brother pretty bad and I was reminded of who the guy exactly was.

And I did what any smart person would do, I missed all events last week to avoid him.

He'd probably would've forgotten all about me by now. Hopefully.

"-karma caught up with that guy." I snapped back to reality when Lina closed her locker and tugged Miley so we could all go to our first class, while Jake had gone to his soccer friends.

"It gets more interesting," Lina gushed excitedly. "So I heard from Gina whose cousin Loyd is friends with Arrielle who boyfriend's best friend's girlfriend's-"

"The point Li?" Miley cut in with a roll of her eyes.

"Oh yeah," Lina paused as if suddenly remembering what she was saying. "They never caught him. Roman and the other three disappeared before they can catch him."

Miley and I looked at each other in confusion. "Disappeared?"

Lina nodded. "As in poof," she made a little gesture with her hand. "One minute they were right behind him and the next he's gone."

I held back a snort, knowing well enough that he hadn't disappeared but rather appeared under my car but deliberately missed the point because I hadn't told my friends and didn't plan to tell them either.

Don't get me wrong, I trusted them, just not Lina's big mouth that could blurt anything out and if Dobora found out, I was a goner.

"Sweetheart there are these things called cars," I pointed out to avoid suspicion.

Lina jumped in her place slightly, her blonde hair moving along with her. "Yeah but still. Can't vanish that quickly."

"Anyway back on topic. Roman's parents are trying to get some settlement with Dabora's brother. That's one reason why no one has seen him in the past week. He's apparently grounded."

Miley snorted. "Bullshit, Johanna saw him at Brit's party on Saturday."

"Why didn't we?" Lina looked up at Miley with confused blue eyes and this time I didn't hold my snort back.

"Maybe because you two were too busy making out to know anything otherwise?"

Miley opened her mouth to protest then diligently shut it. "Touchè."
