*Miley's POV*

Lina let out yet another sigh, leaning her head against the window. I looked at her for a second, before refocusing my eyes on the road.

I had my own car since I had turned sixteen last year, but it was always a tradition for all of us to go to school together, so I hardly used it.

But today was a necessity, and so I had to drive to school today.

First week of January and I was already dreading the year, because the start of it was horrible.

We had spent New Year Eve and New Year Day trying to coax Faith out of her room but, she didn't bulge.

She had locked herself in her room after coming home from the park, where Roman had found out.

When the Morris brothers had failed to get her out of her room, they had reached out to us.

But even Lina and I couldn't do much. Of course we were confused as to what had happened, which forced the brothers into telling us everything.

From Sky and Roman's accident, to what had conspired in the park, and my heart clenched for my best friend, who had already gone through so much in life.

And to see her broken like that had shattered my mind.

I had to be stopped by Arden physically from marching over to Roman and knocking - quite literally knocking - some sense into him.

Or maybe a car over him.

But they didn't let me. And on the night of New Year, Faith had walked out of her room after three days. And since we weren't expecting her to do so, we all had stilled, waiting for her to give a reaction.

But instead, she had smiled the way she always had through the pain, and had asked for food, claiming she was starving.

And we had played along because that was what she wanted.

But that didn't stop me from wanting to take her pain away.

Because she didn't deserve it.

For a girl who had always helped others - who had accepted me when I first came out to her, and then helped tell my parents this, and make them accept as well - she didn't deserve the burden of such a life on her shoulders.

I parked in the first empty space I could find, and intertwined my fingers with Lina's to get her attention.

Kissing her knuckles, I said, "I'm gonna go find Faith." She smiled at me encouragingly and we got out the car to go our separate way.

I was grateful to have Lina by my side to provide me strength and even though Faith was strong, she deserved that sort of support as well - someone to understand her, and someone to share her burden.

And for a while I had thought that Roman could be that person.

For a second, I had thought that Roman was worth it, but all he did was wreak Faith and for that, I was never going to forgive him.
