Sitting in French class that Thursday, I huffed as I tried, and failed, to keep up with the French movie that was playing in the dimly lit room.

Sighing, I rested my chin on the table with my arms stretching across, before I let my forehead hit the table.

Whoever thought it would be a good idea for me to take French was an idiot.

At least I had gotten a good night sleep without any anxiety because dad had to postpone his visit until next week and I couldn't be more relieved.

Jasper was still there and he was one lawyer to many for me to handle -  didn't need more stress in my life.

I look back at the screen before resting my chin on my plopped up hands when a slight shuffle on the side caught my eye.

I resisted the urge to turn and almost succeeded but Roman's question threw me off guard. "Why's your dad back?"

My head snapped towards him, eyes wide when I found his body leaning towards mine. So close that I could feel his breath on my cheek.

But then my eyes narrowed. "Why do you care?" I haughtily retorted which earned me a glare.

"I don't," Roman snapped quietly, turning in his seat to look ahead. The light from the projector throwing shades on his face, making his eyes look brighter.

I shook my head, refusing to let my thoughts go in any wrong direction. "Good," I whispered back, not knowing if he even heard me or not.

I copied his action and turned to the screen but two minutes later I felt someone nudge me. I looked up to see Shirley, the girl sitting on my other side put a note on my table before giving an incline of her chin towards Dylan, who was looking at me.

I smiled at the two, before opening the note. I had to squint a little to see what was written on it in the darkness.

You okay?
- Dylan

Turning my head back to him, I nodded in assurance and he grinned before turning back to the board.

"Why don't you just go sit with your boyfriend?"

I rolled my eyes as Roman grumbled from my side, having witness the moment with Dylan. "I would if I could," I said with a sickeningly sweet smile.

It was Roman's turn to narrow his eyes at me. "Sorry for being such a cockblocker," he sneered.

"Why don't you mind your own business?" I lashed back quietly, trying my best to not get the teacher's attention.

Roman's eyes flashed, a taletell that he was getting frustrated. By me or the situation, I had no idea. "Like you mind your's?" He jeered.

"What is your problem?" I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest and Roman groaned.

"You," he exclaimed, banging his hand on the table. "You are my problem."

The whole class turned to look out way and Mrs. Amoré called out, "Mr Winter, is everything alright?"

It was only then did Roman realize that he had gotten everyone's attention unintentionally.

Gulping, he waved his phone, which was in his other hand to the teacher. "Sorry for taking a call during class but there is an issue and I have to go."
