October was finally here and so far it has been shit.

Chemistry was making my life hell. Homework was piling up and Astrid was not making tutoring her easy.

She was, at the very least, a complicated person.

She was smart and witty but she let her snarky side get the best of her, which is why we were behind schedule.

With a tired sigh, I closed my locker, only to jump a mile. "Declan," I chided. "You need to stop doing that."

"But it's fun," he winked back and I pouted.

"It's fun to see a little of my life leave my body?" I glared and that's when I felt the soft breath on my ear.

"Will definitely be doing me a favour." I froze in place because I knew he was standing way to close to me.

Frowning I tilted my head and looked up at him, only realizing then how short I was compared to him. I barely reached his chin, that freaking skyscraper.

"What do you want?" I asked and he shrugged. "I'm interacting with you," he stated and this caused to me raise an eyebrow.

I turned around, so that I was leaning on my back against my locker and looked between the two boys, who stood on my either side.

"He's avoiding the girl he was with last night," Declan stage-whispered to me and I smirked.

Putting a hand on my chest, I dramatically said, "And you choose me to help you with that. I'm flattered."

Suddenly Roman moved on lightening fast speed and caged me between him and the locker with his hands on either side of my head.

"Don't kid yourself," he mocked and I looked at him curiously.

"Why do you bother with them in the first place?" I puzzled, genuinely wanting to know.

This, however, caused him to smirk. "I'm a big boy with needs," he stated and I gazed at him with confusion.

He looked down and I followed his line of sight towards his jeans. Finally understanding dawned on me and I wrinkled my nose in disgust.

"Dude," I screeched, pushing him away from me and he let me.

Shouldering his bag, he gave me and Declan a two finger salute. "She's gone. I'm out of here," he announced and then started walking away.

"Try to forget the way back to me," I shouted after him and he flipped me off as he screamed back, "No promises."

I looked back to find Declan looking at me with a dimpled smile. "What?" I asked, feeling slightly subconscious.

"How's life Faith?" He asked with the same smile as he leaned against the locker and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What do you want?" I deadpanned.

This caused him to pout. "Can't I just talk to my friend?"

I suddenly felt bad, for being rude to him. "Well I guess you can," I uttered, feeling embarrassed.

"But today I need your help."

"Of course you do," I said with a blank face, suddenly not feeling bad at all for judging him.

He fidgeted with his fingers, slightly nervous. "So you know how you're tutoring Astrid?" He began.

"I am not tutoring you," I interrupted. "It's bad enough that I'm being forced to tutor Astrid."

I then remembered he was best friend's with Astrid and quickly rebuked, "No offence; she's a great person but I have trouble studying myself, having another person to teach is bad for my health."

Declan only gave a sheepish smile. "See it's just that, I don't want you to tutor me. Your friend Miley-"

"Good luck with that," I snorted. "The last time she had to tutor someone, she swore never to do it again."

But Declan only smiled. "That's why I'm here. You ask her," he chirped.

"Dude, if you ask, she'll let go. Me? She'd punch me if I so much as mentions it," I exaggerated, shaking my head.

Declan looked at me for a moment, and when he saw nothing but determination in my eyes, he got down on his knees and gripped my leg tightly.

"Please Faith. I'm desperate," he cried you. "You're not just Faith, but my only hope as well. Please."

I tried to shake him off but his grip was too tight. "Declan let go of my leg, people are watching," I mini-screamed as I tried to pry his hands off.

"Not until you say yes," he grounded and I looked around at the people who were staring at us, whispering amongst themselves.

"Declan." When I knew he wasn't going to let go, I sighed. "Fine."

He immediately let go and opened his mouth to say something, however, I raised my hand to stop him.

There was something that had been bothering me for a week. Something that Eddie said and I needed to know.

"But answer me this first, why do you and your friends still hang around me?"

"Well I'm here because I like you," Declan shrugged getting up and when I gave him a stern look he pouted. "Don't give me that look, it's true. The others, I don't know."

He looked sincere so I sighed once more before bringing my phone out and dialling Miley's number.

"No."

Her answer was loud and clear the second she picked her phone up and I frowned, slightly confused at how she knew what I was going to ask.

As if reading my mind, she said, "I've been watching midget there beg for your help and it's a no."

I looked at Declan, poor hopeful Declan and said, "She says no."

"I'll buy her food everyday that she tutors me," he quickly negotiated and I rolled my eyes but conveyed his message anyway.

"Yes," Miley's answer was just as quick as it before and I frowned.

"What?" I asked not believing it and Declan with a confused looked questioned, "What?"

"What? I'll help him because I'm a nice person," Miley said innocently and I shook my head, knowing well enough how she was helping only because she was good and totally not for free food.

Note the sarcasm.

"She said yes," I passed on the information to Declan and he fist-bumped.

I looked between my phone and Declan and frowned.

I hoped, I really really hoped, that Declan would make it out of this alive because I was actually starting to like the guy.

Well his death, not mine.
