Friday was my favourite day of the week.

And it seemed extremely favourable today because we were spending the weekend at Lina's, away from Jasper, who was becoming extremely overbearing with each passing day.

Commenting on what I eat; who I meet; how I do my work. It was like having a mini dad at home; so controlling; so judgemental.

But freedom was finally mine and I intended on taking full advantage of it at tonight's party.

Donned in a black full sleeves crop top with high waisted dark jeans, I felt confident that tonight's going to be a good night but something kept nagging me in the back on my mind.

And Lina must've noticed it as well. "You look lost," she commented once we all got out of the Jeep.

The ground beneath us thumped because of the loud music that came from the mansion in front of us and neon lights flashed shadows on everyone's faces, giving it a thrilling vibe.

"I don't know," I shrugged in response. "I keep feeling like I'm forgetting something. Like there was something important today."

I felt the weight of Miley's hands on my shoulder before she exclaimed in my ear, "Is it 'get drunk till you can't remember your own name' day? Because bitch that's the only thing you need to keep your mind on."

Her enthusiasm was contagious, and I found myself grinning. "You know what?" I laughed, twirling her around. "It really is. Let's go get drunk!"

Miley threw her fist in the air in excitement, before dragging Lina with her inside.

Jake's arm wrapped itself around my shoulder and I looked up to a worried face. "You sure about this?" He coaxed and I smiled at him warmly.

"With every thing that's been going on, I think we all deserve some break," I said, wrapping my arms around his waist. "Plus Kiran has a lot of rooms to spare, I'm sure she won't mind if we crash in one of them."

Jake laughed, as he guided us inside. "That sounds like a plan."

Walking around, we found Lina and Miley in the kitchen, browsing through the drinks.

Cheap beer, shots, ginger beer.

You name it, Kiran had it on her table.

Lina looked at us approach. "What do we get?" She laughed at her indecisive nature.

"The strongest they got," Jake roared and Miley smirked at that before handing each one of us the jelly shots to begin with.

"Let's go say hi to the cheer squad and soccer team before hitting the dance floor," Lina suggested and we all nodded.

"Lead the way."

***

Didn't know how long we were dancing or how many drinks I've had.

All I knew was I was tipsy, and my feet hurt.

Jake, who was dancing next to me, leaned in close to whisper, "I need to pee."

I looked at him, then back to Lina and Miley, who were heavily making out on the dance floor.

"I'll come with you," I said. "Maybe we can find somewhere I could give my feet a break."

Jake nodded and together, we stumbled upstairs to find a room.

We hadn't found an unoccupied room and were still looking around, when Jake suddenly stopped and since he was holding my arm, I tripped at the abrupt lack of movement.

I turned to him in confusion but his hazy eyes were focused on something else.

Following his line of sight, I frowned when I saw a girl leaning against the wall, hair stuck to her face due to precipitation and she looked ready to puke.

I had to strain my eyes a bit, before they widened. "Isn't that Astrid?" I asked Jake aghastly, and he pursed his lips in hesitation.

I watched as his mouth opened and close as words refused to come to him. "I. Um-"

"Jake," I tired to be stern, but my voice slurred his name, and his eyes finally snapped my way. "Go help her."

His voice wavered, and I could see an internal struggle going on through his eyes. "But-"

I shook my head. Pushing him her way, I stressed, "Go."

He looked between the two of us before letting out a sigh and jogging towards her.

I watched as he took hold of her forearm and straightener her, which caused her to sway in place before she leaned against his chest and he carried her away.

I don't know how long I stood there, lost in my thoughts, because when I tried to move, it only resulted in me stumbling and it was my turn to lean against the wall.

With a slight buzzing head, I swayed across the hallway and turned the corner, only to crash into a hard chest.

I lost my footing, but hands grasped my waist, while I fisted the shirt to keep myself up as a familiar scent engulfed me.

I kept my forehead tucked against Roman's chest, my heart thudding loudly and I knew Roman could feel that as well.

Roman sighed. I felt his breath on my hair and with a heavy heart and half-lidded eyes I looked up.

Hazel eyes clashed with brown but neither one of us backed away.

Roman's pressed his lips together, immediately drawing my attention to them and if I hadn't been looking closely I wouldn't even have known what he asked. "Have you seen Astrid?"

I nodded. "Yeah. She didn't look so good." My lips curved up slightly and I teased, "Not very nice of you to leave your friend like that."

Roman once more sighed, before his hand that was resting on my waist let go, and it came to grab my hands that were clutching his shirt.

"Where is she?" He asked while removing my hands and gently placing them by my sides.

And that definitely stung. This is why I preferred not to drink. Because I got more open with my emotions and I had no control over that.

I hugged myself to keep my hands occupied so I wouldn't reach out for him. Without meeting his eyes, I confessed, "With Jake."

From my peripheral vision, I saw him shake his head. "That's not good," he murmured to himself.

This caused me to frown. "He'll take care of her," I defended.

"He'll break her heart again," he scoffed and tried to walk past me. In hindsight, if I wasn't drunk, I would have never have done what I did next but I held his arm as he tried to do, words slipping out of my mouth before the two of us could react.

"Like you broke mine?"

I shouldn't have said it. But I did.

And I wholeheartedly blame it on being drunk, and nothing else.

Which one do you prefer more: drunk Faith or sober one?

I had to divide this chapter into two parts because it was becoming too long and so the next chapter is going to be a whirlwind.

Why?
Because everyone, literally everyone, is going to be in one place.
And what does that spell?
Trouble, obviously.

Don't forget to vote and comment.
Until next time lovelies. :"D
