He painted over her scars
With every colour he could find
Until she lost them in the setting sun

"Faith. Get the door."

I huffed in anger as I stomped down the stair, while my brothers from all parts of the house kept shouting for me to open the door.

"Why should I get it?" I yelled back, so they could all hear. "What if it's some psycho killer or kidnapper?"

"They'd drop you back soon enough," Arden screamed back and somewhere in the back, I heard Sky, Miley, Lina and Thea burst into laughter.

Grumbling childishly, I asked, "What if it's your friends?"

"What if it's your's?" Heath retorted from the kitchen.

Every year the Morris household hosted a friends party on Christmas eve. Only close friends where invited and we had been doing this ever since Heath graduated from high school.

Opening the door, I yelled to Heath, "Yeah, it's mine." Then I turned to Jake in confusion. "And why did you ring the bell? You have keys."

"Forgot mine at home," Jake casually said as he pushed past me into the house, and I smiled as Astrid followed him.

"These are for you." She handed me the delicious looking brownies and my smile widened. "They look so good," I complemented as I peeked inside.

Declan piled two delicate looking gifts on the covered brownie tray and then leaned in close to whisper, "I'm sure Roman tastes better." However, Gabriel, who had been standing right behind Declan, started snickering and I glared at the two.

Roman rolled his eyes at the two and I gave him a smile before quickly looking away.

Yeah I wasn't mature enough to know how to handle my feeling so I was avoiding Roman. Petty I know, but who cares.

"Some of the people are in the living room, while most of the guys are downstairs in the gaming room. I'll go put this is the kitchen," I told and then quickly rushed to the kitchen.

"Thea, more dessert," I announced, walking into the kitchen and Heath, with his apron on, sighed in relief.

"That's good because while we still have the chocolate log and cheesecake, the custard has been burned," he told, glaring at his best friend Ron, who sheepishly smiled.

Sky came and wrapped his arm around me as he looked at Thea.

Thankfully Arden's blonde friend was mature enough to talk to him, and the two had sorted out whatever problem they had while he had been back.

"Why isn't Eddie here?" Sky asked Thea, and she rolled her blue eyes.

"He had somewhere else to be," she said with an attitude clearly showing something was not right between the two siblings. Sky and I shared a look before backing away from the topic.

"Sky," Arden called as he got into the kitchen. "C'mon man, I'll introduce you to my girlfriend."

Smirking, Sky guided me to basement where the gaming room was, with Jake in the lead.

I frowned as we made our way to the stairs. Loud hooting could be heard as the everyone cheered on a game.

Downstairs was a hassle. Sky's best friends Ken, Harry, Ray, Ray's younger brother Troy and Harry's older brother Jerry while Arden's friends Clyde, Winn and their girlfriends who were close to Arden were all there. Heath's friends Jerome, Flynn, Grayson and Kylie were among the crowd as well.
