Ryan's POV.

I left Kate with Matt and Lisa. I know she is in the best hands she could be. I know it will be extremely hard for her to tell them every detail that she already told me. But it will comfort her to be fully honest. That's when her soul can be fully calm. When she keeps no secrets from the ones she loves.

I need to talk to David. He is one of my best detectives. I need info on this Brad. As much as possible. We need to find a way to put him to jail somehow. He will get away with harming Kate that's mostly for sure but I should ask James whether they have security cameras or not. Cause if we could have footage of him entering Kate's room,than that's pure evidence.

I call David on the phone to ask where he is.
"Hey David. We need to speak. You free now? "

"Hello Ryan. Yeah, but just for you. Meet at my office in 15 minutes?"

"Sounds good. See you soon."

I try to be on time but of course traffic is the usual hell in New York. Not even my Aston Martin can make me be on time.
As I reach David's office, he is already waiting for me but smiles when I step in.
"It's good to see you Ryan. But unfortunately whenever we meet, it's always about something not so pleasant. How can I help you?"

"I need information on someone. Immediate information. His name is Brad Smith. I don't have so much background on him. He graduated 5 years ago from Newlark High School, the same as Kate. "

"What is with him?"

"Earlier abuse and sexual assault but now he tried to kill Kate. He stalked her for hell knows how long, he knew her room number in the hospital and cut through her wrist. He left a note, I don't know whether his handwriting could be analysed or not but here, it's the note he left."

I handed David the note while he was taking notes. He looked sad and angry about hearing something like this but he got used to hearing awful things.

"I am sorry Ryan. Really. Kate is an amazing girl. She shouldn't have gone through something like this. I put most of my employees on this case. We need not just info but any evidence. Talked to the hospital about security footage? "

"Not yet. I was just confused. It's hard to handle it professionally when I am this involved. "

"I know Ryan. Let me handle it and you take care of Kate. Tell her I send a hug and get better soon."

"I will David. Thanks a lot. I call you when I know something new. "

We met with David a lot of times whenever there was someone stalking around us or the company or whenever paparazzi went too far. Sometimes we met him together with Kate so they know each other. We used to meet outside of work too so he cares about Kate. And our work relationship is an old one too so I knew David is the one who I could trust with this task.

When I finished, I go into Carter Corp to meet with Mark. I called him earlier that we must talk so he is already waiting for me in my office.
I tell what I can to Mark not leaving out the info that we will be away for more than 3 weeks but I will be available mostly any time. I already told him about the Scottish project more than I told Kate so we manage to go into further details and arrange together as much meetings as we can for our trip. I don't want to overstress Kate but the most important meetings must be scheduled when we will be there. They are new contacts so we need to establish a trustful relationship in very little given time.
I will tell Kate everything when it's time. Now I ask Mark to make the necessary presentations on major projects we have done in the past. Mark does the best presentations in the company and Kate is a good speaker. She studies her presentations and asks me every possible question beforehand not to get suprised. Kate is the smartest woman I have ever known. That's one of the reasons why I love her so much. We can talk about anything and everything.
As I leave Mark, I start to think of what needs to be done before I go back to the hospital. But damn, I wanna go back to Kate so much. It's extremely hard being away from her.
I quickly tell my assistant that Mark will be the one to inform about everything, I don't want any calls, everything must be directed to him.
I won't deal with anything there,just the new contacts and I won't be alone. Kate will be with me.
After I finished, I quickly go home to change and head back to the hospital. On the way, I buy some flowers to Kate and a soft fluffy blanket cause I know how much she loves blankets. Strange but she shows extreme love towards fluffy blankets,pillows and mugs. I can't even count them at home. Not that I am complaining. I love snuggling with her under a soft blanket. So I must have bought another one for her in the hospital. As I realised,they kinda make her calmer. Maybe the softness, maybe just the feeling of home, I don't know.
And yeah. I am the same. I talk about a blanket for minutes.
I just smiled at my anecdote about blankets. It's so good just to think about some blankets. I feel a bit of relief going through me. I quickly chose everything, yeah I got her a mug as well but I just want to make her smile. And those two are just simple ingredients of a smile.
