Get home to get away

Kate's POV.

These 3 days passed extremely quickly. Ryan was so caring and loving all the time. We were watching movies, cuddling, walking in the forest and just being together away from all the world. I felt a hundred times better.
It was really disappointing when we had to leave. But I knew that leaving the forest house only meant a bigger adventure, flying to Scotland. I had watched forecasts before to know what kind of a weather should we expect but of course it showed rain all day with little sunshine. But to be honest, I don't mind it at all. I love rain. But I hate getting wet from rain so I needed to get a raincoat before we leave. And I also needed to talk things over with Ryan cause he still keeps most of the information as a secret. And I don't even know what to pack or how long should I expect to stay? So in the afternoon before going home, I asked as many questions as he was willing to answer. We will leave the forest house soon in the afternoon cause we need to sleep at home and  pack as well for tomorrow.
"Could you tell me anything about our Scottish trip?"

"What do you wanna know sweetheart?"

"How long are we going to stay?"

"At least for 3 weeks but it may be longer.  We will rest and have business meetings too. I will tell you everything when it's time. You will be involved in everything as you will represent your branch as their manager because you will be working with this project. And we need to travel a lot through the country to check many lands. But I will tell you everything sweetheart when everything is finally settled. I still have some calls to make but only when we get home. We should really leave to get home as soon as possible. You have everything with you?"

"Yeah. Is Jake coming?" I tried to ask it not to sound rude. I don't have any problem with Jake coming.

"To where? Here or Scotland?"

"Both. I am just curious."

"I think he is coming to Scotland and of course he comes here to pick us up and drive us back. And I don't really wanna go to Scotland without protection. So I decided to have him with us. If you don't have any problem with that..."

"Nooo. Of course not Ryan. I feel safe with Jake and he is our friend."

"Than it's a deal. We only have to tell him to prepare for an adventure in Europe."

I quickly packed all my things and when I finished, Ryan was already talking with Jake outside. Jake seemed happy about coming with us but I will talk to him about it too. It's hard to just leave here everything for weeks, maybe more than a month. He does have a life here too.
As I got in the car It came to my mind that I must meet up with Lisa and Matt.
We had been texting each other in the last 3 days but I wanna meet them before leaving so I quickly text them to ask them over for dinner. I mention that we are flying tomorrow so they both say yes to the invitation. Of course. I start to think of what to cook immediately. I had terrible meals at the hospital so I would appreciate something delicious.
Ryan realised that I am lost in thought.
"What are you thinking about sweetheart?"

"Not much. Just the evening. I hope it's not a problem that I invited over Lisa and Matt for dinner before we leave. I really need to see them. Is it okay with you?"

"Of course it is. I am glad too cause I can't guarantee that I won't be on the phone all evening. There's still a lot to manage. I need to talk to the pilot of the private jet about the exact leaving time tomorrow and to Mark as well cause he will be in charge of everything here. He is the only one that I fully trust. So I am happy that you won't be alone while I am off. In this case maybe I can speak to Mark privately not just on the phone. If that's not a problem for you that I disappear for a bit when Lisa and Matt arrived. "
