A week later
Betty's POVI've been staying with Chery and Toni and it's great. Now that they now everything about my home life, Cheryl doesn't me to go home at all. Staying with them it is having friends around you 24/7. It's great other then when we are in a middle of a conversation and they start making out. I just leave and go to Pop's when that happens.
Now I'm eating breakfast and it's a Wednesday and talking with Toni. "You know I haven't thanked you and Cheryl for letting me stay here." I said. She smiled. "It's no problem besides we love having you here." I smiled back. "Thanks, but I don't think I'll be--" I was cut off my by Cheryl, who walked into the kitchen and said. "Uhh Betty?" I looked up at her. "Yea Cheryl?" She had a phone in her hand and I quickly realized it was my phone. I tried to grab it out of her hand, but she was quicker to move her hand. "Why do you have my phone?" I asked. "Well as I was walking by your room and your phone started ringing." "And? Why does that give you a reason to take my phone?" I asked. "I thought it might have been your mom so I was gonna tell her off." "So?" I nodded agreeing with what she wanted to do. "Yea okay." She sighed then put my phone down. "Who's this?" She asked. Toni and I both leaned over to see what it said. It said I have a missed call from Veronica. "Oh shit!" I mumbled and looked at Toni was smiling from ear to ear. I looked back up at Cheryl. "I... don't... know." I said. "Oh don't give me that. I already know it's a person who your probably hooking up with." She said. I shook my head. Cheryl rolled her eyes. "I don't a Veronica at our school. Where'd you meet her. I know it wasn't at school." She said. I sighed. "I met her... at the store. We ran into each other and I don't know, connected in some way. We exchanged numbers and stayed in touch for a while." Cheryl's smiled widened. "Okay. How serious are you two?" She asked. "We are... well really I don't know right now we haven't said anything about it." I said realizing we actually haven't said anything about being actually together. "Well when you do please invite her over for dinner. I wan a meet her." Cheryl said turning and starting walking away. "Are you my mother now?" "A little, yes." I sighed. "So why are we just now hearing about this?" Toni asked. I shrugged. "It never came up." I got up. "We better go." I said leaving.
When we got to school Cheryl immediately found and told Kevin everything that happened this morning. This will be amazing. I just lied to all of my friends well I lied to Kevin through Cheryl.
When the bell rand I went staight to class. It a few minutes before Evelyn came in and sat next to me. I'm still not used to sitting next her.
When class started I made eye contact with Veronica. She smiled which made me smile and blush a bit. I hid my face so nobody would see it.
During the whole class period I kept looking up and down. It's like before we got together I couldn't stop looking at her and now it's starting again. Well it didn't really stop I... just today was different.
After school
When Cheryl, Toni and I got back to their house it was quiet. I was just sitting in the room I was staying with, which at this point I could just call my room when Toni walked in. "Hey." She said. "Hi." She came over and sat next to me. "I want to finish our conversation we had this morning. The one we had before Cheryl RUDELY interrupted us." She said yelling the word rudely. "IT'S NOT RUDE IF I FOUND SOMETHING OUT!" Cheryl yelled back from somewhere, but I know it wasn't anywhere near the room. I could tell Cheryl was smiling. "Okay well what were we talking about?" I asked. "You were saying something about not doing something." I nodded. "Oh! Okay. Well yea I was saying thanks for letting stay here with you guys..." "No, problem." Toni said with a smile. "And I wanna finish our conversation we were having before we were RUDELY INTURPTED." She said. Cheryl stuck her head through the door. "It's not rude when I found something out." She said then walked away. Toni rolled her eyes. "Anyway. Well the last thing you were saying was something about not doing something." I sighed. "Yea I was saying that I don't think I'm gonna stay here much longer." I told her. "Wait why not?" She asked.i shrugged. "Cause I feel like I'm invading your guys life and I don't want to do that anymore." "If you were really invading we would have told you, but your not so your fine. Besides where would you go anyways?" Toni asked. "I don't know." "Exactly. Just keep staying here. We are happy that you're here anyways. It brings some light into this place anyways." I smiled. "Okay."
Later on
All three of us were sitting st the dinner table eating dinner when I got a text. I grabbed my phone and lokekd at it. "Hey no phones at the dinner table." Cheryl said. I looked at her. "You are not my mom." I said. "Well I said I was this morning." She said jokingly. I rolled my eyes. "Awesome." I said and looked back at my phone. It was Veronica!
Veronica
I'm bored and lonely.
Okay...
** I smiled as I read this.
Wanna come keep me company for a bit?
Alright.
I got up. "I'm done." I said. "But you've barely touched your food." Cheryl said. I sighed. "I know, but I'm going out." I said. "What could be more important than eating?" She asked. I just turned around to walk off. "Your going to see this new chick aren't you?" I sighed. "Maybe." I said and walked off. She gasped. "You are!" I was turned around and now I was facing Cheryl. "What?" I asked. She had biggest smile. "Nothing. Go on." She said and walked off. I looked at Toni who shrugged. Then I left.
When I got to Veronica's house it didn't take very long before she answered the door. When she did she had the biggest smile on her face. "Hi." She said. I smiled back. "Hi." I replied. "Come in!" She said happily. I walked in with her right behind me. "I'm sorry if you were busy with something." She said. I turned around to look at her. "No, it's fine. I was just with Cheryl and Toni." I told her. "Your friends. The two girls that are dating, right?" She asked. I nodded. "Yea those two. Also I was rather be here." "And why is that?" She asked walking a little closer to me. I smiled even more. "Well this morning when you called and I didn't answer Cheryl was walking by my room and heard my phone going off." Her smile faded. "She doesn't know, does she?" She asked. I shook my head. "Oh no. But anyways I was eating and talking with Toni then Cheryl came in with my phone asking who Veronica was." I finished. "What did you say?" She asked. "Nothing I just walked away." "Damn." "I know." We both laughed.
We sat on the couch cuddling and watching movies like always. I didn't realize how late it was until I looked ar my phone. So I left Cheryl's and Toni's at six and now it's nine fourty-five. "It's late." I said. Veronica sighed and looked at her phone. "Yea you better go." She said sadly. "Awe is someone gonna miss me?" I asked. She looked at me and smiled. "Maybe." She said and looked down. I lifted her head up so she was looking at me. I smiled. "I'm sorry." I said. "No, your not." She said still smiling. I kissed her passionately and she kissed me back. When I pulled away I smiled again. "Does that change your mind." "Yes." "Good. Now..." I started and got up. "I better go before Cheryl and Toni start to text me like crazy." She got up to. "Okay." She said sadly. We walked to the door. "See you at school tomorrow?" She asked. "Yes. Of course." I gave her one last small kiss then left.
