Betty's POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I sighed and got up. I got around for the day then walked downstairs. I walked into the kitchen to find Cheryl and Toni.
"Hey, Betty, how are you feeling?" Toni asked. I just shrugged and didn't say anything. I heard Cheryl quietly sigh.
"Uhh, Betty, we'll be leaving for school soon go finish getting around." Cheryl said. I am around, but I'm not gonna argue with her. I don't have that much energy. I sighed and started to walk upstairs. I started to hear the two girls whispering to one another. I could barely make out what they were saying. But I did hear a few things. Veronica's name, Archie and something about New York and her parents. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk upto my room. I grabbed my phone then walked back downstairs. I walke into the kitchen and they immediately stopped whispering.
"You ready to go?" Cheryl asked. I just nodded. Then we left for school.
Once we got there, Kevin immediately found us as we walked in.
"Hey, Girls!" He said.
"Hey, Kevin!" Cheryl said. We walked into the student's lounge and sat around.
"Has anybody heard anything about the new teacher?" Toni asked.
"No, are we getting one today?" Cheryl asked.
"Yeah, they found one pretty fast." Kevin said. "I haven't seen her, but she's here."
"Oh well, I guess we'll figure it out in ten minutes." Cheryl said.
"You guys tell me about her at lunch so I know what I'm getting myself into for my seventh period." Toni said.
"Hey, Betty, what's wrong? You've been unusually quiet." Kevin asked.
"Kevin, no." Toni said quietly. I saw her shaking her head out the corner of my eye.
"Oh," he slightly whispered. They all continued talking while I stayed in my own head. Once the bell rang I just wanted to leave school. How am I supposed to go to that class and not feel sad?
Kevin, Cheryl and I walked in the English classroom. No adult was in there. I sighed.
"Betty, I get that your upset about Veronica, but she's fine." Cheryl whispered to me.
"Not with that dumbass she's not." I told her and sat down. Kevin sat next to me. Then class started. As the bell rung and woman came walking into the classroom. She walked over to the board and started writing.
"Good morning class. I am Ms. Lodge's temporary replacement, Ms. Conner." She had an accent. She turned around and faced the class. Class went on as normal. Except it wasn't normal. It has completely changed and was different.
Once school was over, we all went to Pops. The other three started talking about the new teacher while I was in my head and leaning on Jughead who was also here.
"Hey, guys." Jughead said. "Don't you you've talked enough about the new teacher?"
"Right." Kevin said. "Sorry."
"Hey, Betty!" Toni said. "Why do you go started to car while Cheryl and I gi get some food to take home." She said and handed me the keys. I grabbed them and climbed out of the booth.
Toni's POV
I waited for Betty to walk outside to say anything to the guys.
"Kevin, Jughead." I said, getting their attention. They both looked at me. "Cheryl and I talked to Veronica's ex last night." I told them.
"What? Why? And how?" Jughead asked. I sighed.
"Because we wanted to get more information about Veronica. And we got it." Cheryl said. I nodded.
"Well, what do you know then?" Kevin said.
"She's in New York with her parents. I have no idea if he's left Riverdale yet, but when he does he's forcing her to get married to him." I told them.
"Wait, really?" Kevin asked. I nodded.
"Yes,"
"What do you do then? Have you told Betty?" Jughead asked. I shook my head.
"No, and we can't tell her. Not until we know exactly what's going on with them." Cheryl said. Now Jughead sighed.
"We'll fill you in more if or when we get more information." Cheryl said. I nodded.
"We should try and get Veronica's number off Betty's phone. See if we could get a hold of her." Kevin said. I looked at Cheryl then at the two guys.
"We'll do that, but we'll have to do it when she's asleep or something." I told them. They nodded.
"Yeah, just tell us when you got it." Jughead said.
"Yup!" The bell on Pop's door chimed again. I turned back and saw Betty. "We better go." I said getting out of the booth with Cheryl following. "Let's go." I said and the three of us left.
Cheryl and I waited for Betty to gall asleep. We quietly walked into her room and grabbed her phone. We put her number into my phone them left the room.
"Should we try to contact her now?" Cheryl asked. I nodded and instead of texting her I called her. It rang three times before she picked it up.
"Hello?" It was Veronica.
"Oh, thank God!" I said.
"Wait, is it her?" Cheryl asked. I nodded and put it on speaker.
"Toni?" She asked.
"Yes," I said.
"How did you get my number?" She asked.
"We got it from Betty's phone. Where are you?" I asked.
"I'm... I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that." She said.
"Hey, we know your in New york." I said.
"Wait how do you know that?" She asked.
"City boy gave it to us thinking we hated your twos relationship. Now tell us, how can we help you?" I asked.
"You can't help me! Your... you guys are gonna have to leave me be." She said.
"How can we do that? Betty is over here depressed as hell without you. You are her happiness, Veronica!" I told her.
"Yeah, if anything she needs you!" Cheryl said.
"When have you ever cared, Cheryl? All you ever did was try and get us apart." Cheryl said.
"I know what I did, and I'm sorry. Seriously. Right now, all I want is my bestfriend to be happy. And you two make each other happy." Cheryl said. I smiled at her. She smiled back.
"Okay, umm, if I can I'll call you back." She said.
"Guys?" Both Cheryl and I looekd up and saw Betty. "Who are you on the phone with?" She asked.
