After school
Veronica's POV

I was sitting in my classroom grading papers when I got a text. I put my pen down, letting out a sigh of relief. I grabbed my phone. It was Betty texting me.

Betty

B: I love you

I smiled and blushed a little.

V: I love you too. Where are you?

She immediately texted back.

B: I'm about to leave with my friends.

V: Oh. It's good your hanging out with them and not me all the time.

B: Yea, but it's more fun being with you.

V: Oh yea? Why is that?

B: Just reasons. I have to go I'll call you later.

V: Okay.

I sighed and put my phone down. I immediately smiled again at the fact that she just randomly texted I love you to me. I really love her and I hate that we can't go out in public with each other. I hate that I can't hold her hand and kiss her and hug her in public, but we both know what we signed up for when starting this relationship. I started packing my stuff up because I'm tired of grading shit.

Once I got to my house it was exactly how I left it this morning, other than the fact that my ex is sitting on my damn couch. "What the hell?" I said. He turned around and stood up as he saw me. "What are you doing here? How did you even get in here?" I asked. "I came in through your bedroom window." He said. I sighed. "Why are you here?" I asked. "I'm sorry." He said. "What?" "I'm sorry and... I want you back." I scoffed. "Yea, no, I'm done with you and we are never getting back together." I told him. "Why? I'm not staying out late getting drunk! I have a job!" He said. "And that's supposed to mean anything?" "No, but you do know we're still engaged." He said. "No, we aren't." I said. "Yes, we are. You never gave the ring back." He said. "Yes, I did. I swear I did." I said. "Why don't you want to get back together? Is it because of the girl that was here last time I was here? Who is she? When did that happen?" He asked. "None of that is your business." I said. "And why not?" He asked. "You need to leave." I said. "No, I'm not goi--" "Yes, you are! Now leave!" I said opening the door. He scoffed and left. I shut the door and sighed. I powered my phone off incase he decided to text me. I just sat in my room for the next few hours, thinking.

I had taken a shower and did my nightly routine, just without eating anything. I'm not in the mood for eating. It was about ten-thirty when I started to feel tired. So I went to bed.

Betty's POV

I was in my room, trying to get a hold of Veronica, 'cause she wasn't picking up her phone. It just went straight to voicemail. Is her phone dead? I had texted her a few times asking if she was free tonight or if she was okay, but still no answer. I thought nothing of it and figured she was busy and had her phone off or something.

I walked downstairs and I saw Cheryl and Toni sitting with Kevin. "Hey guys?" I said, just looking over at them. "Hey Betty! What are you doing here?" Cheryl asked. "Just getting a drink and heading back upstairs." I told them. "Okay." Cheryl said and I walked into the kitchen.

I walked out and upstairs. I stopped cause I heard something. "I thought you said she was leaving?" It was Kevin and he had lowered his voice. "I did. Apparently she's not going anywhere." I heard Cheryl whisper back. "Are we going to have to do this another day?" Toni asked. "Well let's just wait and see if she does within the next few hours." Cheryl said. "Alright." Kevin said. I walked back to my room. Are the they talking about me? Of course they are I'm the only one that leaves ALL the time. But why would they be talking about me? What are they trying to do? Do they know about me and Veronica? So many thoughts came to my mind and I started stressing and panicking. I started taking deep breathes in and out to calm down. "Betty are you okay?" I heard someone say. I looked ar the door and Toni was standing there. I nodded. "Yeah I'm fine." I told her. "Are you sure? You were just like freaking out or something." I sighed. "Yeah I'm fine." I lied. "Okay." She started to walk out. "Wait." I said and she stopped and looked back at me. "Yea?" She asked. "Come here." She walked over to me. "Yes?" "What are you guys talking about down there?" "Oh nothing it's just... school." "Is it anything to do with me?" I asked hoping she doesn't catch onto me. She hesitated. "What?! No, of course not. It's just school work and homework and all the dumb shit." She said. I nodded. "Okay, you can go." I said and she quickly walked out.

Toni's POV

I quickly walked downstairs back to Cheryl and Kevin. "Uhh guys I think we have a bit of I problem." I said walking over to them. "What do you mean? What did she say?" Cheryl asked. "Well she was kind of panicking up there and she said she was fine." They both nodded for me to go on. "I was about to leave She stopped me and asked me a couple of weird questions." I said. "What were the questions?" Kevin said. "Well she asked what we were talking about, I lied and told her school. Then, she asked if it was about her, which I thought was really weird, but I told her it wasn't." I said, worriedly. "Do you think she knows we know?" Cheryl asked. "Well we don't exactly know anything." Kevin told her. They looked at each other. "But we know enough to know that it's happening." "I have to kind of go with Kevin here. He's right we have something, but not alot." I said. "I literally found a paper with her number on it in the teachers desk." Cheryl said. "But why would you even do that?" I asked. "Because you two asked for proof!" I nodded. "Well I didn't think you'd go snooping around." I said. "Do you not know who I am? I'm fucking Cheryl Blossom, you should know this by now." I rolled my eyes. "Okay we need to stop arguing so she doesn't know that we are on her." I said. "Well I want to confront her." Kevin said. "Why do you want to confront her so bad?" Cheryl asked him. He sighed. "Because Betty and I have been bestfriends since we were five. I just don't want to believe it, but if it's happening I would like to know." He said sadly. "Well we are all her best friends and we will help her out if it is." I said. "But what if she doesn't listen to any of us?" He asked. "Then whatever happens next happens and we can't stop that." Cheryl said. "How about this if she leaves tomorrow we'll talk to her." I said. They both agreed.
