Betty's POV

I woke up at about midnight. I don't know why I'm up I just am now. I reached over for Veronica, but she wasn't there. I got up. "Veronica?" I questioned. No answer. I sighed and walked downstairs. "Veronica." I walked into the kitchen and there was standing at the counter. She was muttering to herself. "Veronica?" I said again. She turned around and looked at me. "Oh, hi, Betty." She said with a smile on her face. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Not really." She said. "What is it?" I asked. "Betty... I think I need to get out of town." "What? Why?" I asked. "I did something, Betty. Something bad." She started shaking and had tears in her eyes. "What do you mean?" I asked as she started crying. "Oh, Betty." She cried. I pulled her over to me and hugged her. "Come on. What is it?" I asked. She pulled out of the hug and pointed over to the table. I turned around and saw a red headed man tied to a chair. "Oh, Veronica. We just got out of one mess. Why are you putting us in another?" I asked. "I'm sorry. He was at the door and was trying to get in the house I wouldn't let and he lunged at me. I don't exactly know what happened after that just that maybe, I may have stabbed him a little." "If you weren't arrested before, your definatly going to be now." I said. "No, I won't. Not if I get out of town." She said. "And leave me behind? No way!" I said. "Well, you could come with me." I sighed. "Veronica, I am not leaving, and your not going anywhere either." I said. "I'd rather see you safe in a jail cell then you leaving town and hiding, doing God knows what." I said. "But if I don't I--" I cut her off. "If you don't, you'll stay here and we'll act like nothing happened. Okay?" "Okay." "Have you checked if he's alive?" I asked. "To scared to." She said. I walked over to him and check his pulse. "Well, he's got one, but it's weak. We have to get him to the hospital, V." I said. V? I've never called her that. Whatever. "But--" "no buts about it let's untie him and get him in the car. He bleeding really badly." She sighed and helped me.

We took him to the hospital. "How are we going getting him inside without being caught?" Veronica asked. I sighed. "I'll take him in through the side doors. I'll lay him on the ground and leave. Hopefully someone walks by and sees him." I said and looked at her. She sighed and still had tears on her eyes. "I got us into this mess." She said. "Yes, you did." She looked at me. "Thanks. Helped so much." "But I'm not saying it'll change anything." I said. "I'll be right back." I told her. I got out of the car and made sure nobody was outside. I opened the back and dragged him out and to the side doors. I slowly and quietly opened them. Nobody. I dragged him inside and to the middle of the hallway. I heard voices. I quickly ran outside. The next thing I hear is. "Docter!" And the sound of people grabbing and moving things. I ran back to the car and got in. We watched as the side doors opened again. Someone, I guess, was looking for the person who brought him. She went inside and we left.

Once we got back to her house she was still a little shakey. "Veronica, maybe you should go wash up and go to bed." I said. "How can I go to bed knowing I could've killed someone?" She asked. "You didn't kill anyone, V." I said. "Oh, please. He was lifeless when you woke up and he's lifeless now." She said. She started crying again. I got her a cup of water. I handed it to her. "Here." She was to shakey. She dropped it and the glass shattered all over the floor. She put her head in her hands. I quickly hugged her. "Go to bed. I will clean this up. I'll be there soon." I said. She nodded. "Okay." And started walking off. "Also, by the way, the name V?" She said. "Yeah?" "I like it, B." I smiled and so did she. She started walking up the stairs again until I couldn't see her anymore."God, I love you." I said to myself. "I love you, too!" She said. I rolled my eyes and picked up the glass.

When I walked upstairs and into the room she was ready passed out. I laughed and got in next to her. She cuddled upto me. "Can we go see if he's alright tomorrow?" She asked. I nodded. "I will. You don't need to do that." I said. "Alright." Then we went to sleep.
