Veronica's POV
I woke up at five cause I have to get to school early. Well because I'm a teacher.
Let's not go through my boring morning routine.
When I got to Riverdale high I realized it was Friday. Yes! I know it's only the first week, but damn it is boring.
I just sat and waited for like an hour cause for some reason teachers have to be at school for at least an hour before the students. Ugh! I can't wait for the kids to get here so classes could start and I could get out of here.
Betty's POV
"Hey we should hang out at my house this weekend." Cheryl said. "Excuse me!" Toni said. "Sorry our house." Cheryl corrected herself. "Uhh sure, Cheryl" Kevin said. Honestly I'm barely listening to them. "Uhh Betty? Betty!" I hear and see Cheryl snapping her fingers in my face. "Huh? Yea? What?" I said looking at her. "Are you okay?" Toni asked. I nodded. "Yea. Uhh what are we talking about?" I asked. "Our house this weekend. You in?" Toni said. "Yea, sure. When?" "Today maybe. You guys could stay till tomorrow or Sunday." Toni said. "Okay." Kevin and I said symutamiously. "I'll be right back I need to go to the restroom." I said and got up. I looked at the time. We have eight minutes till class starts.
I went to the restroom and decided just to got to my lesson. When I got in the class nobody was I there not even the teacher. I sighed and sat at my seat. I grabbed my book for the book report we are already doing. It was the outsiders. Not to long after I heard footsteps come into the door. I looked up and saw Veronica. Well I can say that when I'm talking to myself. Or thinking to myself. She turned and saw me. "Oh!" She jumped a little. "Sorry." I said quietly. "It's a okay. What are you doing in here five minutes early?" She asked. Okay, this is happening. "Oh I uhh only came in here because I needed to get away from my friends." "Oh. Why? May I ask." She said. I put my book down. "They want to get together this weekend and we see each all the time." I told her. "And you just wanna get away from them?" She said and walked over to my desk. "Yea. I can't just say that I don't wanna go. Cause I've had a very rocky past." "Oh. I'm sorry." I shrugged. "It's fine. I'm over it." She put her hand on my hand. My breathing stopped for a second. "If you ever need to talk to someone you can always talk to me." She said. I nodded. Then the bell rung. She quickly pulled her hand away and quickly walked to her desk. "What was that?" I mumbled to myself. "What was what?" Kevin asked as he sat next to me. "Nothing." I quickly said and went back to reading my book.
Veronica's POV
The hell did I just do? Did I just... basically grab her hand. Damnit! Breath. Act like I was just comforting her. I mean that was what I was doing. Right? I don't even know.
After school
I've been thinking about only one thing all day. Can you guess what that is? Yep! Me grabbing Betty's hand. I'm thinking to myself I can say her name. I let out a sigh before I left the school. I saw her at one of her friends locker. She looked at me and I looked at her. We both quickly looked away. I looked back at her real quick then walked straight out of the school.
Betty's POV
I looked at her again. She was looking at me too. We both looked away and I looked at her again. "Betty who are you looking at?" I quickly looked at Kevin. "Oh nobody." I quickly said. "Oh so you were looking at someone." Cheryl said looking to were I was looking and both Toni and Kevin did that same. I looked to. She was gone. Thank god! They all looked at me. "Who was it?" Toni asked. "Nothing. No one. It wasn't anyone." Toni raised an eyebrow. "Really? Cause you keep saying words that people use to talk about a person." I looked at her confused. "Ugh! Really?! You keep saying anyone, no one and nobody." She's to smart. "It's fine." I said. "We will figure out, Betty Cooper." Cheryl said and then looked at Toni. "Come on TT. We know Kev, is coming over tonight let's go." Toni grabbed Cheryl's hand and they were off. "Kevin let's go." I heard someone say around the corner. "Okay." Kevin said and looked at me. "Who was that?" I asked. He shook his head. "Nobody. Talk to you later?" He asked. I nodded. "Yea sure okay." He left. I guess I'm walking home.
I was half way home when it started pouring rain. "Damnit." I said. I was still seven blocks away from my house. "Ugh!" That's when a car stopped next to me. They then rolled the window down. I may die right now. "You need a ride?" They said. I know that voice. I looked through the window. "I'm soaking." I said. She smiled. "It's fine." She said. I sighed and got into her car. This is the second time. Okay something is happening. You know wait. I'm thinking to much into this. I grabbed my phone and texted my mom.
Mom
Gonna be home a little late.
That's alright I'm not home.
Okay?
I sighed and turned my phone off. "Is something wrong?" She asked. "Yea." I said quietly. "Like I said earlier you can talk to me. You can trust me as your teacher." Exactly, your my teacher. "No, it's just my mom isn't home and I thought I was gonna go to my friends house for at least today." I said. She nodded. "Oh. Do you not feel safe being by yourself?" I shrugged. "I mean sometimes I don't feel like it." I said. "Like I'm safe I mean I just don't like being alone sometimes." "And why is that?" She asked. I shrugged. "I don't know. My past. It was a bad one. My father is in jail. My sister's crazy. My mom is depressed. I have a secret brother that I never knew about. And then there's me." I said. "Wow. You have such a hectic life." "Tell me about it. All I have is my friends who keep my out of trouble and getting hurt." "What do you mean?" Hse asked. "Well me and my ex used to do stupid shi-- sorry." I stopped myself. "No it's alright. I won't tell." She said whispering the last three words. I laughed. "We used to to do stupid stupid things that landed us in trouble sometimes." "Oh. Wait did you say ex?" She asked. I nodded. "Yea. He broke up with me because he thought it would ruin out friendship." "Oh." "Yea. We've been friends since we were five." "So how long did you two date?" She asked. "A few weeks. I agreed with the whole thing about us and our friendship." She nodded. "This is your house right?" She asked. "Yep!" I grabbed my stuff and looked at her. "Thanks again." I said. "Again anytime." I got out and walked inside. I put my stuff and then realized I left my phone in her car. "Fuck!" I said and opened the front door again. As I did I notcied her walked upto the door with something in her hand. She looked up and saw me. "Hey uhh you left your phone in my car." I put my hand on my heart. "Oh thank you. I thought you left with it for a second." I said. "Nope." She stopped right in front of the door and me. She handed me the phone and I took it. "Here you go." "Thank you." "Your welcome. Also have you started your report on your book?" She asked.
Veronica's POV
I'm just looking for an excuse to talk to her right now. "Uhh. Yea, I have I'm that far into it though." I nodded. "Okay I was just wondering. See you Monday." I said. "Oh and tell those little friends of yours that you want a little space sometimes." She nodded. "Yea okay." She said and I walked back to my car.
I'm really hating myself right now. Why am I doing this to myself. That's twice now that I've driven her home. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think I like a student. Not just any student a female one. Okay I just need to push the thought of her out of my mind for a bit. Maybe I'll go to Pop's. I've only been there a few times since I moved here, but it's not that bad.
