Part Sixty

Veronica's POV

I woke you next to Betty who was already awake, and looked like she was in deep thought. "What you thinking about, babe?" I asked. "Oh, nothing." I sighed. "I guess we are just going to school like normal today." I said. "I guess so." She sighed. I got up and got around like normal. "Come on. You have to come too." I said. "I know it's just--" She was cut off by a knock at the door. "Hold on. I'll be right back." I said and walked downstairs. I opened the door and saw Betty's mom. "Is she over here?" She asked forcing herself inside. "Betty!" She yelled. "Where is she?" She asked me. "Upstairs." I said quietly. She started walking up the stairs with me behind her. "Betty!" She said and opened the door to my room. "Mom! Oh, my god!" She said and covered herself with the sheets. "Oh, God, Betty!" Her mom said and covered her eyes in disappointment and disgust. I rolled my eyes. "Betty, get your clothes on and were leaving." Her mom said. "Fine." Betty said. Her mom walked back downstairs. I walked over to her. "I'm sorry." She said. "You don't need to be sorry." I said. "But my mom is just--" "being a mom." I said and put my hand on her face. "I know." "Now, get around before we get into more trouble." I said. She chuckled. "How much more trouble could we get in after this?" She asked. I shrugged. "Well, you'd be surprised." She got up and got changed.

Betty's POV

We were in the middle of our sixth period when I got called to the office. "Will Elizabeth Cooper please report to the office. Elizabeth Cooper to the office." I looked over at Cheryl. She was smiling. Knowing what was coming next, I glared at her with small tears in my eyes. Her smile quickly went away and I left not caring for the world.

I walked to the office and the lady pointed to Principal Weatherbee's office. "Miss. Cooper please sit down." He said. Sheriff Keller was in there. I sat down. Veronica was also in there. We sat next to each other. We intertwined our hands together under the desk. We looked at each other. She had tears in her eyes. I knew it. I fucking knew it. "Betty, I thought you should know about this. Your mom didn't want you to know, but I though you should." Mr. Keller said. I nodded. "What?" I asked. "We have labeled Veronica Lodge as a child predator and she will be arrested right after this." He said calmly. I felt my eyes fill up with tears. I shook my head. "No." I whispered. Then the office door opened. "Hold it right there!" I looked back at saw Cheryl with Toni, Kevin and Jughead with her. "She will not be going anywhere." She said walking over in between the two chairs Veronica and I were sitting in. "Excuse me?" Keller asked. "She will not be going to jail." She said. "Cheryl, dating a student is illegal. She's a child predator. Plus, you're the one who told me about this." She scoffed. "Yea, and now I regret it." "Well, I'm sorry, but you have the law against you." He said. I looked down and pulled my hand away from Veronica's. "I may have to law, but I have three others who would give you perfect reasons why you shouldn't send Miss. Lodge away." Cheryl said. "Okay." Keller said. "I'll go first." Cheryl said. "I know Betty isn't using her to keep her grades up. Because she's actually really smart." I smiled a little. "I'm not saying that she is, but I'm not saying that she isn't smart. She is. But--" "Also, Betty, ran into the woods behind Cheryl's house to avoid questions from us." Kevin said. "She ended up in the hospital." Toni said. "She broke up with her for a few days to protect her." Jughead said. "Yes, she got sloppy about hiding in sometimes, but she kept it hidden pretty damn long." Cheryl said. Sheriff Keller sighed. "I'm sorry, but the law is the law." He said. "Yes, but you can look away from it just this once." Cheryl said. The principal and sheriff looked at each other. "I don't think we can do that." The principal said. "And why is that?" Toni asked. I looked back at her. "Well, we can't just turn away from the law. The law is the law and that's final." Keller said. "Dad!" Kevin said and stepped forward. "Betty is my friend and I will not let you take the love of her life." He said defensively. I looked back at him. He looked at me and smiled and put his hands on my shoulders. "Son, you can't--" "I will not let you do it. She's my bestfriend and I love her. And will be happy for whoever she dates. Because as long as she's happy I'm happy for her." He said. Veronica and I looked at each other. I then looked back at Cheryl who just smiled at me. "I guess we can make one small exception." Sheriff Keller said. We all looked over to him. "Thank you." Cheryl said. "But there will have to be some rules." Principal Weatherbee said. We looked at him. "You may not show any kinds of affection towards each other at school." We both nodded. We've already had to do that. "No one else is aloud to know about this. Any of this. And one last thing. You two can't sneak around the school." He said. We both nodded. "Okay that's fine with us." Veronica said. "Okay, you all may go to class." He said. We both stood up. I looked at Cheryl and hugged her. "Thank you." I said. "Anytime, cousin." She said and hugged me back. "Thank you, to all of you." I said looking at everybody else. They all came in and in one big group hug. I pulled Veronica in the middle with me and kissed her. "Oh, come on you two. Are you serious?" Jughead asked and everyone pulled out of the hug. I smiled against her lips and we both pulled away smiling and laughing a bit. "Sorry. I may have been a bit carried away." I said. We all laughed. The bell rang. "Let's all go to our next class." Toni said. We al walked out in one big group. Other than Veronica she had to go the opposite direction of us. I looked back st her and she looked at me. We were both smiling. Then a whole crowd of students blocked our view of each other and I looked back in front of me. I looked over at Cheryl who was smiling at me. I smiled back. "You guys are the best." I said. "Well, you are the best blonde ponytailed haired bestfriend." Jughead said. We all looked at him weirdly. "That doesn't make sense, but does at the same time." I said. "I know." he said. We all laughed and walked to our next classes.

Sorry so the next chapter will have smut, but it will be the only chapter I can think of now to have it. Let's just say it's for the special occasion. That is happening now... sorry. Sort of.
