MIA CAMPBELL had become a werewolf after her best friend lost control and scratched her, making Mia a werewolf until the day she died. Bitter and confused, she found the one person she knew would understand—Luke, her mother's close friend and co-worker, who always believed in the strange things of the world.
Pointed towards a local pack in Brooklyn, she joined a pack where, unfortunately, her best friend who turned her happened to be a member.
Now with new friends, Maia Roberts and Simon Lewis, Mia settles into her new life as both a werewolf and a struggling amateur artist. Somehow, everything seemed to settle into a new schedule and atmosphere.
Then Luke, who had become like an uncle figure to her, killed the pack leader and became the new one. Everything came crashing down as Simon pulled her into a world that she tried to block out, so harshly that she felt like she'd been pulled underwater by a current.
Everything was strange, but Simon was new to the real world of Shadowhunters, too. That was the only thing that mattered. Not the fact he was mundane, or she was a werewolf, but the fact that they would figure it out together.
