FINNICK ALVENA had lived a lie, one she paid everything to keep intact. Everyone she loved had given themselves to the darkness just so she could keep it, something that hung heavily over Finnick despite how long she told herself it was too insignificant.
To her, there were people that were perfect. Hope Mikaelson was perfect, the perfect little witch, the perfect display of breaking your parent's mold and reshaping it. Milton Greasley was the perfect student, the perfect display of making the best out of the worst and always looking for something to compliment. Finnick wasn't perfect, she couldn't even cry without worrying about the effects.
To everyone, Finnick was nothing but a werewolf turned far too young, an alpha by anger and age. To Finnick and the dead, she was few of a kind, a witch and werewolf with an untapped vampire gene. No one knew that Klaus and her mother's on-and-off romance resulted in a child, one that her mother insisted wasn't logically his. No one knew that Finnick had spent her entire life keeping away from others to keep her secret safe.
She did her best not to get attached, to distance herself, even if it hurt to tell those she let in that she didn't care for them. But it was for the best. Not for her, but for them. Because Finnick was a ticking time bomb, one that had been festering for seventeen years.
Then Landon Kirby came, and Finnick expected nothing of him, just another human that would forget everything by morning. Nothing special. As time passed and things came to a boiling point, Landon directly at the center of the monsters approaching over the horizon, Finnick realized that Landon wasn't the average human. The chaos he brought was enough to make the clip pull off of the grenade.
Finnick had spent her entire life keeping the secret of who she was, to not bring her father's enemies with her. To be better. To not live in the monster's shadows. And it had worked until Lizzie Saltzman managed to figure out the truth, making Finnick's worst nightmare come true.
It was finally time to find out whether or not Finnick Alvena was a cosmic mistake.

❝ that's what no one seems to get, lizzie! i don't have a purpose, i don't have some hollow or whatever. i'm just some loophole in nature to kill everyone i love. that's my purpose. to ruin everything. ❞

EXTRA.
→ finnick is the kid of klaus! her mother, tara, had an on-and-off relationship with klaus, since before tvd. her mother was a part of the entire show's length, meaning finnick is close with alaric (though she tries not to be, since, yknow, everyone dies). her mother told klaus that the child wasn't his after he found out that he could have children (hope), and that sent finnick into a life of lies, where she was only a werewolf.
→ finnick knows magic! her mother had bonnie bennett teach her magic, which is the only way she knows it. finnick doesn't openly practice magic and never has, she only practiced with bonnie. because of that and the fact she stopped lessons when she was ten after her mother's death, finnick isn't as far along as other witches with all spells, though she does no more advanced ones in some areas. but overall, she's a newbie to magic. and because of not using her powers, she's a literal ticking time bomb. what hope did in s1 during the dance? that, times a hundred.
→ the way lizzie found out is from the jinni. in the alternate universes, things were very different, and in some it was known that finnick has klaus' child and hope's half-sibling. in a fluke of nature, lizzie still retained that snip-bit of info when she came back to reality.
