KIE HAVOK had been called "The Lipstick Daydream" since she was fourteen, the name spurring on the day she arrived to camp, draped over Silena Beauregard's shoulder, everything askew except for her cherry-red lipstick. It might not have been meant in a bad way at first, but it quickly turned into one, rumors spreading about Kie that she had slept with her sister's boyfriend, or that she'd kissed Percy Jackson all because she was the one to stitch his wound. The nickname had ruined anything she had left that the brand of an Aphrodite child didn't.
After two wars before she was even seventeen, Kie was tired. She'd lost her sister, and despite what she wanted to think, somewhere in the grey morals of war she'd managed to lose herself, too. The name "Lipstick Daydream" was barely said around camp anymore, not since Kie had broken Travis Stoll's arm. That time was gone.
Then Jason Grace arrived, went to Chiron before the patrols could even say much to him, and Kie was being pulled out of the arena. Her first thought was a monster, or an attack, but it was neither; a quest. She wasn't sure why they came to her, after all, Piper had been the one from her cabin to be in the prophecy.
Except this time the quest specifically said it: a daydream of blood and beauty. Unfortunately, Kie was the only one they thought of to fit the description.

→ they're set on a quest to save persephone, who is taken by someone unknown. it's up to you who, whether it's an ancient enemy of the gods, another god, an egyptian or norse one, whatever. they have two months to figure it out, with a catch: jason's powers aren't working, a temporary curse from his enraged father, and they have absolutely no idea where in the world persephone is.
→ this is set post hoo, so jason and piper are broken up, but a few months before this book. jason is still upset over it, so he wouldn't immediately like kie. kie also isn't too interested in dating. she's slightly cold towards people, but she is nice and caring, but it's hard for her to properly show it, especially since silena's death.
→ kie is the counselor of aphrodite cabin, and has been since silena's death. drew isn't counselor. kie is close with her half-siblings, even drew (mostly drew). her and drew are close because silena was special to both of them, and none of their other siblings could really understand what they were going through. drew's always been the one to stick up for her about the bullying, so kie and jason argue over drew a lot, since jason's seen one side and kie's seen the other.
