SCARLETT RIVERS wasn't supposed to exist. Most demigods weren't, they were an age-old tale of cosmic mistakes that are bound to repeat the same again and again. Scarlett was one of those. A father, born from the King of the Gods, a mistake that cost Zeus his freedom, and a mother, the goddess of harvest, who made one mistake that she regretted too dearly. Scarlett was the guilt of both her parents, a daughter neither wanted, but the daughter that was thrown into her father's arms without his word. But even if her father didn't want her, he wanted a warrior.
From a young age, she was taught like a warrior, as her father liked to put it. How to manipulate others just as well as she bended plants to her will, just a simple training regime. Scarlett Rivers wasn't a child, nor a demigod—she was a warrior, and that was all.
At the age of twelve, she joined Kronos' army, alongside her father. She became the prized pupil, the one that was pointed out in the crowd, the one that people would say "You see her? That's who you want to be, be them." Even Kronos called her the warrior of generations to come, making Scarlett feel like she'd finally achieved her life's purpose.
Then Percy Jackson came along and it was ruined. Scarlett's position as the trainer of Kronos' demigod army came under siege as Percy Jackson foiled everything that was planned long before he was born. There was one person that Kronos would trust to stop the threat of Percy Jackson, one person to stop the one thing that would destroy him.
That left them to the present, where the prophecy began.
Scarlett stumbled over Half-Blood Hill, faking a panicked persona as she collapsed into the arms of none other than her target. And then she uttered those words that sealed her fate, wrote her name in the stone that could make or break their world.

→ so! yes, scarlett's a spy. they needed someone on the inside (more than silena), someone to make the camp crumble, and they knew she would be the best choice. no one knows otherwise, only that she's a daughter of demeter, not that she's a legacy of zeus.
→ this spans a large period of time to show her growth, and her growth with percy. remember that at first, her only goal was to end up killing him and stopping him from ruining any more of kronos' plans. she wouldn't like him at all, friendly or not.
→ her father doesn't love her! or, he does, but it's his own twisted, toxic version of love. he wants a perfect daughter, which to him, is an unbreakable warrior. scarlett's father is abusive, though she doesn't see it that way, and doesn't know it isn't normal. demeter doesn't care for scarlett, it's up to you whether she does later on or not.
→ if you plan on percy & the gang finding out (which would be nearly impossible for them not to), please don't gloss over it. they would all feel ultimately betrayed, since she's been living, eating, and socializing with them for three years.
