song - Never Seen Anything Quite Like You by The Script (acoustic)

~"And your eyes are in your eyes
And my heart's in our hearts
Sometimes words just ain't enough
For this love that's more than love"~

The symphony had been created over time, intertwined with who he was. It was just a simple beat at first, crafted from the sound of his irregular heartbeat whenever she walked into the room, polished off with the sound of her laugh. His mind worked tirelessly, like a musician playing their favorite instrument until their fingers started to bleed, always seeking perfection that they could never achieve. The melody changed over time, order of notes becoming muddled, screeching sounds from a violin overpowering the once peaceful tune. But it was a story of who they were - the story woven deep into his heart. It withheld all of the sweetness of her teasing him and brushing her fingertips across his freckles, tainted darker with the bitterness of the tension that had been building up between them. Every harsh word and sharp glare was tossed in there, finding their own ways to harmonize with the dizzying kisses, with every single time she had told him that she loved him. Sometimes their song lost its steady tempo, drowned out by deep sighs and noises of frustration - but it was always playing in the back of his mind. No matter what happened between them, he knew that it would always be there, stitched into every vein of his heart - his greatest masterpiece.

He had given it a name - the sound of his love. But it did not seem to fit, not sending tingles throughout his bones like he had anticipated. Finn knew that every extraordinary thing deserved a beautiful definition, some kind of long and difficult word to truly express everything that words could never reach. But the word love never seemed right - as if what was between them ran deeper than a single term.

I miss you

Finn, I told you to give me a few hours to finish this painting

Then why are you checking your phone?

Because I know that it's you texting me

But I miss you

Stop being cute, it won't change anything

You're mean

Cool

Can I just come over?

No

Please?

I hate you

Is that a yes?

Just give me ten minutes. My parents want you to come over for dinner anyway

On my way

I SAID TEN MINUTES, FINN!

Eight minutes later, he was standing there with a cheeky grin. It was almost impossible to keep her blank expression, especially when her brain couldn't focus properly. She willed it to slow down, to stop focusing on small details that did not even matter. Her mind was filled with all of the details : the way that his dark curls brushed against the pale skin of her neck, her hands itching to sweep it away so that she could kiss him, shove him up against the door until the world fell away between their lips. She wanted to grab hold of his collar, to stop the adorable stutter that she knew would be forming in his throat - press her lips to where his adam's apple jolted. She wanted the world to slip away until it was just the two of them, harmonizing and kept safe in a small cluster of time and space. Her cheeks heated as gave him her best glare, ignoring the way that his eyes twinkled - as if he knew exactly what she was thinking.
