XXXVIII

Holding onto her hand,Caleb walked side by with his wife and into his parents home. Their daughter's jumped for joy as soon as they walked in with his mother fussing over him walking when he just got out of hospital. It was a Saturday and most of  their family and friends had come to welcome him home. The doctor had opted to discharge him today since he had chemotherapy the day before and wanted to observe him overnight.

' He demanded driving himself home too.'

Amor added causing his mother to fuss    more.

' Mma I'm fine. The doctor wouldn't have discharged me if I wasn't.'

He left them and went into the living room to greet everybody who had come to see him and Amor joined him after assuring her mother inlaw her son was fine.

' Jerry?!'

Caleb was shocked to see his longtime friend and former associate in his mother's house. He thought he still had four more months to serve.

' What are you doing here? I thought you were in for four more months.'

' They let me out early for good behavior a month ago. Had to get myself together before coming to see you and when I finally did. Your mother said you were in hospital sick. Sorry I couldn't come see you. You know how I hate those places.'

' I thought you might be over your phobia by now. I'm do glad to see you though. It must have been hard for you in there.'

' It was but thanks to the money you kept in my books I managed and that friend of yours Cole. He made sure I was comfortable.'

' I had to keep you comfortable since you never snitched on me.'

Caleb never noticed that Amor was listening on their conversation as she chatted with Maddison and Busi. She stopped listening when he asked to meet the woman he had to go on a date with that night. Amor pretended to be clueless on who as they approached them. She noticed a slim finger tap Caleb on her shoulder as they chatted with Jerry.

' Trina?!! Oh my gosh I haven't seen you in years.you look so good.'

Amor felt her temperature rising wondering who invited this woman and why the hell Caleb was hugging her like that, with his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. This woman was a quarter of her size with a wasp waist. Her skin was as dark as coffee with beautiful long natural curly hair.

' I have to go _ do something.'

Maddison followed her into the kitchen after seeing the state she was in.

' Sis what's wrong? Whose that girl?'

' He's long lost ex girlfriend.'

She kissed her teeth.

' Are you jealous?! Oh my gosh you are?! What's her story?'

' I don't know. Apparently she's the one who got away.'

' I see so is it her beauty or her figure that gets to you?'

Amor scrunched up her nose at her cousin but before she could answer her her mother cane in apologising for Trina's presence. She did not know who invited her.

' The way she affects my husband gets to me. He's even forgotten that I exist.'

' Then why is he looking for you?'
