Chapter 12

Penelope decided to walk me to my next class.

"So are we going to meet up or are we just going to make shit up like the rest of the class?" She smiled.

" I actually have somewhere I would like to take you," I told her.

"Okay and where might that be?" She asked.

"Meet me at the Library after school and you'll see."

"I guess I will see you there," She touches my arm sending shivers down my spine.

"Y-yeah," I stuttered. She gave me a smirk before walking away.

During second period I couldn't focus. Once again my mind drifted to the one and only Penelope Park. She must have done something to make me think of her basically 24/7. Like some sort of spell.

I still can't believe that her dad was murdered. That must have been so traumatizing for her. I mean, first of all, he was murdered and then finding the body I mean that's a lot to put on a person. There is definitely more to her than what meets the eye.

"...Miss Saltzman, will you be spacing out the whole period or will you pay attention?"

"Hmm, yes sorry, "

"Are you feeling okay? You were my best student last year."

"Yeah, I just had a long night."

"Okay, anyway as I was saying..." The rest of the class I was dazed and not paying attention. This was going to be a long year.

It was finally lunch this day felt way too long. Just a few more classes until I meet up will Penelope.

Lizzie's POV (first period)

I can't believe that this stupid seating chart made it so that I can't sit next to Josie. This assignment would be so much easier if we were working together. Instead I'm working with some random girl and Josie is stuck with fucking satan. We wouldn't even have to ask each other anything there's nothing that I don't know about her.

"We better start asking questions," I state.

"Umm... okay," she said.

The rest of the period was boring and I learned some things about this girl but to be honest I was only paying attention to Josie and Satan. I just want her to be out of Penelope's (aka Satans) grasp. I look over to Josie and she's crying and Satan seems to be comforting her. What the hell!? But I decided to keep not freak out and go to my next class. If I'm going to be Homecoming Queen then I need to keep my cool.

(Back to Josie's POV)

It was now lunch and I was eating with Hope, Lizzie, Raf, Mg, and Landon.  Landon was trying to talk to Hope but it looked like she didn't want to talk to him.

"Please just take me back. I still love you please just one date," Landon said.

"Landon, I just don't feel that way about you anymore and don't act like you didn't want to break up with me."

"I know that you want to get back with me, just one date, I promise you won't regret it."

"Landon, no! I have no interest in you in that way anymore," Hope said.

"Okay, but the moment you realize that you still want me, I can't promise that I will be waiting for you," Landon got up from the table and left.

"I should probably go after him shouldn't I?" Raf asked and Lizzie nodded. Rafael got up and went to follow Landon.

"I just wish that he would realize that I'm over him," Hope exclaimed.

"Yeah, I mean how much of a dumbass is he. Why can't he just give up on her?" Lizzie asked.

"Some people are hard to give up," I stated.

I then felt my phone vibrate meaning I got a message.  It was from Penelope

Penelope: Look up

I looked up to see that she was staring at me from across the cafeteria.

Penelope: meet me in classroom 306

I looked up again and she was walking into the hallway right next to the cafeteria.

"Hey, I'm going to go to the restroom."

"Okay, see you later Josie."

(In the hallway)

I was walking passed class 306 when someone pulled me into the empty classroom.  I was pressed against the wall by someone. I didn't get to see her face but I knew that it was Penelope. It smelt like her.

"Hey JoJo," She whispered in my ear. I could feel the heat of her body against mine and making me have chills run down my spine.

"H-hey Penelope," I managed to stutter out.  She looked at me in the eyes. "Why did you want me to come here? Not that I'm complaining but I would like to know."

She kissed me, hard. She slid her tongue into my mouth. She pulled away soon after that. "I wanted to do that," she then got off of me and I felt cold at the sudden loss of heat. She walked to the door and turned towards me,"I'll see you later, Saltzman."
