Chapter 24

No ones POV
(Lunch)

Josie walked over to their normal lunch table and sat down next to Mg. Lizzie was sitting in between Rafael and Hope. Landon was sitting across from Hope.

"Hey Josie," Mg greeted.

"Hey," Josie started eating her food.

"So are you still going on that date with Penelope tonight?" Josie choked on her food when Mg whispered this in her ear.

"Umm... yeah," she states quickly looking around to see if anyone else heard.

"Well, I hope it goes well," he says in a normal voice.

"Yeah me too," she says in a whisper.

Lizzie and Hope were too distracted by each other to even care about what anyone else was saying.

"Are you guys listening to me?" Rafael asked the two. He was getting angry. His girlfriend no the love of his life was ignoring him since the party and he didn't know why.

"Hmm... yeah sorry," Lizzie states.

"Lizzie, I think we need to talk?" Rafael asked Lizzie.

"Yeah, I actually wanted to talk to you too," she admits.

"Privately?" He said as he got up and grabbed her hand.

"Yeah," she started to follow him to behind the school.

"Are you feeling okay?" He asked concerned as he touched her arm, "You've been basically ignoring me, you haven't been answering my calls and you keep leaving me on read."

"Yeah, um... I-I," she stuttered.

"Lizzie, what's going on you never stutter?"

"I want to break up with you!" She shouts a little bit louder than she wanted to.

"What?" Rafael asked, "Is this a joke? Please tell me it's a joke Lizzie!"

She shook her head, "I am so sorry," she cried.

"Lizzie, I cant believe this. I love you I would do anything for you!" He yelled.

"I love you too but-" She was cut off.

"Of course there's always a but," he starts crying slightly.

"But, not like that, not anymore I'm so sorry."

"Is there someone else?" She remanded quiet. "Is there someone else?!"

"Yes," Lizzie said.

"Who?" He demanded, "Tell me who!"

"I can't do that to her," She covered her mouth with her hand when she realized she said her.

"Her?" He continued, "so you're gay now?"

"Raf it's not like that, I love you but-" He gets cut off again.

"But you're not in love with me, you're in love with her. Who ever she may-" he realized who is was the second he thought about it. "you're in love with Hope aren't you? Who else would it be? You spend all of your time with her and even during lunch you were more focused on what she was doing than everything else. During my party you wanted to kiss her didn't you? That's why you didn't want her to be with Landon! How did I not see it? I'm so stupid! Why did I allow myself to fall for you? I love you and I probably will never stop loving you and I thought you loved me just as much!"

"I am so sorry," She sobs. She could tell he was upset.

"Can I ask you something?"

She nods

"How long? How long have you been in love with Hope?" He asked.

"I don't know, I didn't realize that I was in love with her until recently but when we started dating I didn't know."

"Can I ask for one more thing?"

"Yes anything," she said.

"Can I kiss you? One last time?"

"Yes," She said as he got closer and connected their lips.
