Chapter 15

(After school with Josie)

I couldn't wait to take Penelope to my childhood home. It was going to be great and maybe she would let me get to know her a little bit better.

"Hey," she greeted 

"Hey, so um, you ready?" I asked.

"Yeah, but before we go to the spot you want to take me I was wondering if you wanted to go to mine first?"

"Yeah, Hope gave me a ride this morning so we kinda have to use your car," I stated. Why didn't I just drive myself?

"I actually took my motorcycle to school today," she said.

"Umm...I've never been on one before," I blushed out of embarrassment.

"Oh, awesome I guess this is going to be your first time," she moved her hand on top of mine.

"...Do you want to get going?" I changed the subject.

"Yeah that would be great."

(A bit later)

I was terrified, I have never been on a motorcycle before. At least Penelope knew how to drive it so that's good I guess. But, that doesn't make it any less scary.

"Are you just going to keep staring at it or are you actually going to get on?" Penelope asked handing me a spare helmet.

"What if I fall off?" I asked, Penelope immediately shook her head.

"You're not going to fall and if you do which is highly unlikely I will do whatever you want for a week," she stated.

"Okay so how do I do this?" I sat on the bike.

"You have to hold on to me," she grabbed my right hand and put it around her waist. I blushed when I put my other hand around her waist. "Just like that," she smiled back at me when she realized.

I felt a little better knowing that Penelope sort of knew how to do this. Penelope started the bike and asked, "Are you ready?"

"Terrified," I awkwardly laughed, "but yeah." Penelope started the bike and she was slow getting out of the parking. We got onto the main road and she sped up a little bit and when she noticed no one else was on the road she went even faster. I tightened my grip around her waist. She made a turn to the lake. She parked the bike. I've been here so many times. Why would Penelope take us here? I mean she couldn't have known about this place.

"We have to walk the rest of the way but we're almost there," she said taking my hand. We kept walking until she stopped in the woods where a bench was she sat down and I went next to her. It had a perfect view of the lake. How did I not know that this place existed?

"I'm curious why did you take me here?" I asked. She turned her head towards me and looked me in the eyes.

"This is where I first saw you," she continued, "It was the last week of summer and I just recently moved into my new place.  My brother told me to go and explore the town and I went to the lake and sat down on this bench. I looked up and I saw you. You made me feel something that I hadn't felt in a while and on the first day when I noticed you staring at me I couldn't help but come over and talk to you."

"..." I couldn't help but blush. She's totally out of my league and she's telling me that she felt something for me by just looking at me. It's unreal.

"I know I came off as aggressive but when I see something that I want I don't want to wait. And I do want you Josie Saltzman. I want you to be mine but I know that your sister doesn't approve of me and whatever but I really like you, like a lot."

"I think really like you too," I leaned in a softly pressed our lips together.
