Chapter 32

Hope was laying in her bed just thinking about how the hell she got this lucky. Lizzie Saltzman was her girlfriend she still couldn't believe it. Lizzie broke up with her boyfriend for her. Her thoughts were interrupted by her mom knocking on the door.

"Hope? Are you up?"

"Yeah I'm just thinking," she said to her mother.

"Can I come in?" She asked.

"Yeah," she says sitting up on her bed making room for her mother.

"It's seems like we haven't talked in forever. How is my beautiful girl?"

"I'm doing great mom."

"I mean it's your senior year. It's fun but at the same time difficult, you have to leave some of your friends. You might not even talk to some of them ever again."

"Isn't that like everything though. Eventually you move on and forget about them for a little bit... and if you're meant to see them again you will."

"God, I can't believe you're graduating in a few months," Hayley said.

"It's really weird to think about life outside of this town. What's going to happen after I leave this place."

"I bet it's going to be okay. I think you're going to meet a nice boy, fall in love and settle down, have a few kids, and have a really nice life," she states. Which makes Hope uncomfortable. She couldn't imagine this life that her mom was talking about when she thought about who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, it was Lizzie. She didn't want to meet a nice boy she wanted to be with Lizzie.

"Mom,"

"Yes Hope?"

"I don't want to meet a nice boy."

"What?" Hayley looked at her confused.

"I already have someone, who I love deeply."

"Oh did you and Landon get back together?" She asked.

"No, mom..."

"Oh another guy?" She asked curiously. Keeping this secret from her mom was hard she couldn't keep it anymore.

"No, I'm in love with a girl!" She finally let it out a few tears escaping her eyes. " I'm in love with Lizzie."

"Saltzman? As in Lizzie Saltzman?" Hope nodded. Hayley took a deep breath and shook her head "Just give me a minute, this is a lot ." Hayley took another breath and then nodded telling her to go on.

"Mom I loved Landon and I know you liked him. But, I'm in love with Lizzie. I can't imagine my life without her."

"How long have you had these feelings for her?"

"I don't know. I've had feelings for her before I started dating Landon but he helped me get over them but when her broke my heart. They came back. She's the one I want to spend my life with."

"You can't possibly know that."

"Yes, I can. I'm in love with this girl and there is nothing in this world that could change that."

"Okay, I believe you. I just thought if you would fall for a girl it be someone like Josie," Her mother laughs and so does Hope.

"So you're okay with this?"

"Of course I am. I'm not just going to kick you out because you love somebody. It's not the right thing to do. Besides I love Lizzie she's a good girl Hope and she's good for you."

Penelope read the message and immediately showed Josie. "What should I do? Should I respond?"

"Ask who it is, I guess."

"Okay," She says going back to her phone.

"Who was it?" Josie asked curiously, moving a closer to Penelope.

"It's my dad," she responded. She was shocked, after all this time her finally reached out to her. And he finally wanted to see her.

"What did he say?"

"He just wants to meet me in 3 weeks," she states.

"Where?"

"At the border. Come with me. Please, I can't do this alone."

"Of course I will, speaking of meeting parents my dad wants you to go hiking with us tomorrow. Do you want to go?"

"Yes, if you're going then so am I," she said and  Josie connected their lips.

"Awesome."

"So what time are we going?"

"I don't know but I'm thinking before noon."

"I'll be there."
