Penelope slams the door shut and Josie starts to go off on Peter. "What the fuck! You've got to be kidding me right now? You haven't seen your daughter in I don't even know how long and the second she says she's gay you start acting differently! You know what she deserves much better than you! I can't believe someone so fucking amazing came from someone like you!" Josie starts walking towards the car when she hears Peter reply.
"You're right... she does deserve a better father than me. I reacted the complete wrong way and I probably just ruined any possibility for a relationship with my daughter."
"I'm sorry.." she said as she got in the car and they drove away.
Immediately when Josie got into the car Penelope started to rant. "He's a homophobe... My dad is a homophobic asshole who was about to give me the you'll find a nice boy talk in front of my girlfriend," she laughs slightly.
"Penelope... he's your father I'm sure he still loves you," she says thinking back to what he said earlier.
"No... He loves the little girl he left behind he loves that girl. He doesn't love me, he loves the girl I used to be, but, that girl died the day he did! It's funny really, he comes back here thinking everything is going to be the same. That I'm going to be his little girl again... but girl is not coming back. You can't put broken pieces back together. No matter how hard you try, they are still broken."
"I understand completely, but Penelope your father is alive and that is something that I would give anything for," Josie says as she looks down.
"I know," Penelope whispers as Josie puts her hand on top of Penelope's leg, "it's just different."
"I know baby, I do, but just give him a chance. Maybe he'll surprise you... Maybe he was just shocked, he hasn't seen you in a very long time-"
"Still he shouldn't have reacted like that."
"I know, but just give him a chance... Please, for me."
"Okay, for you, not for him." Penelope turns the car back around to the town boarder.
"Thank you."
"Anything for you, Josie." A few minutes later they arrived back at the boarder. Peter was still there on his bike with his hand on his forehead. Penelope opens the door and walks over to him. She slightly touches his arm slightly. He looks up at her.
"Penelope! I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. It's just... I always imagined you having a wonderful husband and a kid-"
"And that brings us to the next thing I want you to know about me... I don't want kids."
"Okay, no kids...but I do have a question, why did you come back?"
"Because my girlfriend wanted me to, I wouldn't be here if she didn't want me to go back."
"Tell her I said thank you."
"Why don't you tell her yourself, she's in the car," Penelope say as she walks over to the car and opens the door. "My dad wants to thank you."
"Okay, why?"
"For telling me to come back."
"Okay." Josie gets out of the car and walks over to him. "Hi, Mr. Park."
"Thank you," he says as he gives her a quick hug, "you care about my daughter, I can see it." He released her from the hug.
"I do... very much."
"...She wasn't going to come back was she?"
"No, I didn't want to, but Josie changed my mind," Penelope cut in before walking to check out her dads bike.
"Thank you, I'm very happy she has you in her life," he says to Josie.
"I'm happy I have her in mine." Josie looks over at her girlfriend who is standing by the car, "Penelope is an amazing girl. I'm so lucky to be able to care for someone like her. Also I'm sorry about earlier. I shouldn't have went off on you like that."
"It's fine you were just speaking up for your girlfriend. Trust me I completely understand and besides I deserved it.
"So your really okay with Penelope and I?"
"Yeah, if you make her happy then yes. That's all I really want for her."
"Thank you."
"So how long have you guys been dating?" He asked and Josie shifted a bit at the question.
"Ummm about a month now."
"A month? Wow, I could've sworn you've guys have been together for longer. I mean Penelope is definitely in love with you." Josie blushes the statement.
"Well I definitely love your daughter, even though she doesn't know that yet." Josie rubs the back of her neck.
"Oh, I see, so you two haven't said it to each other yet."
"No sir. I've been wanting to but I'm waiting for the right time."
"I understand that. Well I'm glad my daughter has someone in her life that truly cares about her."
"I'm glad to be that person," Josie says looking back at Penelope again. Penelope noticed Josie looking at her this time and winks. She starts to walk over to Josie and her father and joins the conversation.
After about an hour Peter got a call from someone. "I have to leave."
"What?"
"I can't stay in one place for too long I'm sorry Penelope."
"You just got here."
"I know, I'm sorry... but it's for everyone's safety... it was nice meeting you Josie." He gets on his bike. "I love you Penelope. I will come back, just not now."
"Bye dad."
