It's now 3 days before Homecoming and Penelope still hasn't asked Josie to go with her. She wants to but she doesn't know how and she's running out of time.

"Just go up to her and say 'do you want to go to homecoming with me?'" She smiled slightly in the mirror. "No! It has to be special!" She exclaimed.

"Penelope? Are you okay?" Her brother asked walking by her bedroom door.

"I'm fine, just frustrated."

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked coming into the room.

"I want to ask a girl to homecoming but I don't know how," she admits.

"I mean, it's a really hard thing to ask especially if there's a risk of rejection."

"Well the risk isn't there because I'm dating her."

"I'm sorry what?!" He lowers his voice, "does mom know?"

"Umm not exactly... you know Josie?"

"Seriously Penelope? Of course I do, you hang out with her almost everyday..." he takes a second to breath, "How long?"

"Umm about a month now..."

"And you haven't told me about it? Wow I feel betrayed, I told you when I started dating Alyssa."

"Well that's because you had been talking about her for months."

"Okay, but you could've at least told me about Josie sooner."

"What is it about Josie?" Their mom asked walking by.

"Oh, it's nothing really," Penelope said, "she just got a new phone. Yeah, it's really nice too." I hoped that worked.

"Oh okay, so is Josie your best friend? You go out with her a lot. It's strange that I still haven't met her yet."

"Umm yeah, definitely the person I'm closest to at the school."

"You should invite her over to have dinner soon. I would really like to meet this Josie."

"Yeah, that sounds like fun," Penelope said as her mom walked away.

"Well that was close," Jed said after he saw Penelope relax her shoulders

"No shit," she said taking a deep breath, "I don't want mom to find out I'm dating Josie, if she does I'll probably never be allowed to see her again.  Remember what happened with Rose?"

He nodded.

"I can't let that happen with Josie... so about how I'm going to ask, I think I just thought of the perfect idea..."

(With Josie, Lizzie, and Hope)

"She still hasn't asked me, Lizzie. I don't know what to do," Josie said pacing back and forth in Hope's room because they spent the night.

"Why don't you just ask her?" Lizzie asked cuddling up closer to her girlfriend.

"Because, what if she has something big planned," she looks at her sister.

"What if she waiting for you to ask her?" Hope asked playing with Lizzie's hair.

"I don't think so."

"She might be waiting for you."

"Maybe, but what should I do?"

"I don't know maybe like take her star gazing or something," Lizzie states.

"That would be nice," She states.

"And it would be a way more romantic way to ask than a make out session behind a car," Hope smirked.

"You loved it," Lizzie states looking up at Hope.

"I did, but that's only because I love you," she smiles and quickly kisses her lips.

"I love you too."

"You guys are so cute it makes me want to throw up," Josie says causing Lizzie to throw a pillow at her.

"Shut up if Penelope were here you'd be doing the same thing."

"I haven't even told her I loved her yet."

"Wait are you serious?" Hope asked, "I thought you guys confessed like within 2 weeks of dating each other."

"No, I told her I was falling in love with her, there's a difference."

"I think you fell for her the first day you met her," Lizzie states, "Hell, dad even said something when we went on the hike."

"Whatever, I want to tell her the night after Homecoming?"

"Why the night after?"

"Because I already planned it out. I'm going to take her to the lake and basically set up our first date again and at the end of it I'm going to tell her I love her."

"Why couldn't you do that with me?" Lizzie playfully asked Hope

"Because you wanted to keep it a secret. We couldn't exactly go and have dates. But, I will make it up to you, okay?"

"If you say so."

"Oh I do... and you know I make do on my promises."

"I do."

"Umm since I don't want to be a third wheel anymore and since it's getting kinda late we should probably head to school," Josie states.

"Oh crap, you're right." Lizzie got up immediately causing Hope to make a face. The girls all headed to Hope's car waving at Hayley as they walk by her.

"Hey Lizzie can I talk to you?" Hayley says as she sees Lizzie walk by.

"Yes, of course. You guys go ahead," she said to Hope and Josie.

"Umm... Do you love Hope?"

"More than anything," She responds immediately. She didn't even have to think about it.

"Okay, don't break her heart. Landon broke her and I feel like if you ever do something like that, she won't be able to recover. You helped her last time but if you're not there I'm scared of what's going to happen

"I am always going to be there for her. For me it's Hope. It's always been Hope, it just took me a long time to realize it. And for the record I would never try to hurt her. That is the last thing I ever want to do, if I hurt her like Landon did, I don't know even know what I would do, I truly believe that she is the love of my life and I don't think that's going to change.

"I believe you... You are not little girls anymore. You're young adults and you're leaving to college soon. So I trust you and I trust her...But you still young, try not to rush into anything, just be young and enjoy it. It's not going to last forever."

"I will and I plan to have Hope with me through it all."
