Chapter 22

I hopped out of the shower and headed to Lizzie's room to talk to her. I walked passed her door and opened it slightly to see her kissing Hope. No! Penelope was right about this!

I quietly run back to my room and call Penelope

It rang a few times before she finally picked up, "Hello?"

"Penelope, you were right," I stated leaning against the door almost falling off of it.

"You have to be more specific I'm right about a lot of things," she stated and I rolled my eyes.

"About Lizzie and Hope," I said quietly so that they wouldn't hear.

"Really? What happened?" She asked. I could feel the smirk on her face through the phone

"I caught Lizzie kissing Hope," I told her recalling what had happened a little while ago.

"What did they say?" She asked.

"I don't think they noticed me I got out of there as soon as I saw them. Should I confront them?"

"No..." she paused, "Not yet. You should see how long it takes them to tell you." 

"I don't get why they haven't told me yet..." Do they not trust me?

"Hey, they probably just started this," she stated, "or maybe it was the first time they ever did it?"

"I don't know... can we talk about this tomorrow?" I asked not trying to think about it.

"Yeah, for sure. See you in first I guess,"
Penelope stated.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow Penelope."

"Goodnight JoJo," She said the nickname and it made my heart flutter.

"Goodnight Penelope," I smiled going to my bed.

(The next day)
I woke up again to the sound of my alarm. I woke up Lizzie and surprisingly Hope wasn't there.

"Hope's going to drive us to school today," Lizzie stated. Of course she is.

"Okay," I said.

"Hey Josie can we talk?" Lizzie asked.

"Yeah? What do you want to talk about?" I asked.

"Umm... so I have been having some problems with Raf."

"Why? What happened?" I asked sitting down next to her.

"I just don't know how I feel about him anymore and then there is this person that I really like," she states putting her head down, "God am I a bad person?"

"It's okay, things like this happen, but... you shouldn't lead Raf on," she looks back up at me.

"I've been told that ," Lizzie said quietly, looking back at the ground.

"Just follow your heart," I got up and hugged her, "As mulan once said, 'Your duty is to your heart', more specifically mulan from mulan 2."

"That was really cheesy," she said into my shoulder.  I couldn't help but chuckle. I missed these moments, it feels like we haven't had this in a long time.

"I'm always here for you, no matter what happens and no matter who you date."

Lizzie's phone dings and Hope's name pops up on the screen. "It's Hope," I state.

"She's probably here," she said and I pull away from her. I wish they would just tell me. I won't tell Raf, even though he deserves to know.

Lizzie and I get into Hope's car. Lizzie of course is in the front next to Hope and I sat in the back.

"Do you guys want to hang out tonight?" Hope asked.

"I can't, I already have something planned," I stated.

"Penelope?" Lizzie said.

"Yeah, she's actually really nice," I state. Lizzie just scoffed, "Just try and be nicer to her, please."

"Fine, I'll try to be nicer to the She-devil." That's a new one.

"She's really not that bad."

"... Then I guess it's just going to be us then," Hope said after a few seconds. The rest of the drive was silent besides the music from the radio. We pulled up and Hope parked.

"So, I'm going to have to run but talk to you guys later," I said sending a text to Penelope telling her to meet me in the library.
