Chapter 3

"A kiss."

"I'm straight," I told her.

"You also said that you're not into girls. So, why should it matter?" She asked.

"But-"

"But?" She interrupts taking a step closer. "Are you worried about something?"

"Penelope, w-we should go." I looked to the door.

"Not until I get what I want." I bit the inside of my lip because somewhere inside me wanted that too.

"Fine," I got closer to her and connected our lips. I didn't last long but it definitely made me get a feeling that I never had with anyone else before. "Are you happy now?"

"Very," She moves out of the way, but still didn't let me leave. "Did you like it?"

"I-I am not answering that," I said.

"Then answer this. Do you ever get a feeling like that when a boy kisses you?"

"No." Fuck

"I see."

"I-I like boys." I think

"Okay, tell me why."

"What?" I asked.

"Tell me why you like boys?"

"Do I need a reason? Why do you like girls?" I asked. I don't need a reason, do I?

"You're dodging."

"Some of them are nice to me."

"They're nice to you. Please continue."

"My last boyfriend always did things that were in best interest to me." He was nice but then he moved away but it doesn't matter I wasn't really hurt.

"Like."

"I...don't know," I admitted.

"How long did date?"

"All of our Sophomore year but then I broke up with him."

"And how many times did you have sex?" She asked.

"That is none of your business."

"Did you guys even have sex?"

"Once."

"Once? Did you enjoy it?" She took a step closer to me.

"Umm..." no.

"Josie, you don't have to lie to me." She took another step.

"How do you know that I am lying?" I asked.

"I don't. It's just that I used to lie too." At this point I was back up against the wall.

"Penelope-" I was cut off by the bell, "I...need to get to class." I pushed her off of me and went to the door.

"Fine, but I will see you at the party."

"If I go," I mumbled under my breath hoping she wouldn't hear me.

The next few periods went by quickly. Soon it was lunch. I couldn't stop thinking about that stupid kiss I shared with Penelope. And all I wanted was to do it again.

"Josie, are you okay?" I was asked by Hope, who is also apart of the cheer squad.

"Hmm... yeah I'm fine. I just have something on my mind," I stated.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked.

"No, I'm okay," I said taking a bite of the school food.

"Is it about the new girl?" she asked and my eyes widened.

"Penelope Park?" I asked.

"Yeah, I noticed she followed you into the bathroom."

"I-It's not about her and Lizzie told me not to talk to Penelope so it doesn't matter."

"Okay but I'm here if you need to talk."

"Likewise," I stated, "Is there anything you want to talk about?"

"Actually yeah. But, I can't talk here. Can you and Lizzie come over to my place to get ready for the party tonight?"

"Yeah for sure." After I finished speaking the bell rang

After lunch I went to my next class. Which I had with Rafael and Lizzie in it . But, I couldn't pay attention to them because I was once again thinking about Penelope.

"Right?" Raf tapped on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, what?" I asked confused about what he was talking about.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"You just seem out of it today. Is something bothering you?"

"I'm just tired," I lied.

"Okay." 

What is wrong with me? I only met her today. Why can't I stop thinking about her?

"It's probably because she has to be partner with satan for the rest of the year in 1st period," Lizzie told him.

"N-no that's not it at all. This is not because of Penelope."

"Stay away from her Josie, she is nothing but bad news,"

"Maybe you just feel threatened by her!"

"What did you just say?"

"You heard me, maybe you feel threatened by her because she can take your spot as top bitch. I mean she's hot and she definitely knows how to read people-" I was cut off by Lizzie

"Wow Josie it seems like the she has turned you against me your own twin."

"I'm sorry I don't know what came over me," I stated. What are you doing to me, Penelope?

Lizzie came over and hugged me, "It's okay but just don't talk to her unless you absolutely have to. Okay?"

"Okay."
